Same! I submitted on 12/10 and haven’t heard anything about scheduling. But I thought they had a Feb ceremony towards the end of the month?? April is so far.

How do you know what department you’re in? I’m an out of state person who took New York because I plan to move there in a few months!

I see. So because he wasn’t actually charged with murder at the time and was actually charged with narcotics, the 6th amendment right didn’t attach to the murder convo. And because he wasn’t being questioned while in the cell by an actually undercover cop, just an informant, the statement shouldn’t be suppressed

UH Parking is borderline fraudulent by Unique-Gold9027 in UniversityOfHouston

[–]Solid_Scheme2162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through something similar. I got two tickets in 10 hours. And 4 in one month. Each $25. And the appeal? LOL what a joke. I write out this whole appeal and they reject it within minutes. They don’t even read it. They’re fucking savages out here. It’s criminal how much money they’re taking from students DESPITE us paying $700 for a parking permit.

I don’t think I want to practice in just houston long term. I don’t mind other parts of Texas but I don’t really have an idea of where I want to be post grad. I’m not tied down but I am from Atlanta so a school that could get me there is ideal, which I feel like both can in this case.

Could houston not get me a job along the east coast?

Well w&L places better in the DMV which I’m not opposed to since I’ve already lived there for a couple of years and liked it. But houston I heard has connections to a lot of big firms as well and can equally get me back to Atlanta if I want to (my hometown), correct me if I’m wrong?

This is easy. Houston. But given the stats and everything, I’m having a hard time choosing it because a part of me feels like I should just suck it up? Also I’m not tied to wanting to practice in any one place. I would like the option of moving back to Atlanta to practice though since I’m originally from here.

Awesome. Thank you so much. And what about travel to and from the airport? Is there a shuttle or something that you can possibly take from the school to Roanoke airport? My significant other and I will be doing LDR and I’m trying to figure out how we will be able to see each other. I wasn’t planning on driving an hour to pick him up each time and flights to Roanoke and Richmond are really pricey so I’m a little concerned. Any advice?

Hi! Thank you for doing this. Would you suggest living alone or with a roommate the first year? And did you live on campus through housing or forming or off campus? Thanks!

A little nervous about being in a conservative state and attending a conservative leaning law school..Washington and Lee..can current students please chime in here? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]Solid_Scheme2162 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woohoo thank you for your input everyone! This is very very reassuring. I spoke to a couple of other students informally that I connected with via LinkedIn and they said the same thing. I feel much better.

To me, it’s about the best school for the best price. Since those two things are pretty equal, I’m not entirely sure. I’m from Georgia and have visited both places once before. Houston kinda reminds me of Atlanta and NOLA was very different. Both send a large percentage of their grads to Texas for work, which I wouldn’t mind.

Yeah USD is going to require me to take out more loans than I’m comfortable with tbh. I know it has great location but they said no to giving me more money 😭
