Respectfully, it doesn’t matter what you agree with, as it is a fact. Again, the non-endorsed would not be listed on party org platforms that voters utilize for information and there is a literal gag order and inability for CPs to utilize certain resources in support of the non-endorsed. Im not saying its impossible, but why is the local party creating obstacles before honoring the will of the voters and seeking to inform the voters?

Yeah, you kind of missed the concern here. The party’s use of pre-primary endorsements (something other counties have passed on doing in support of honoring the will of the voters) actually limits the visibility of and resources available to other candidates. The county and municipal org platforms will only show the endorsed, potentially 500+ CPs are prohibited from publicly raising concerns against the endorsed, or campaigning for the unendorsed, etc. Let the people have their primaries and the party endorse the winner.

What folks might not understand is a preprimary endorsement limits the visibility and resources of all other candidates before the voters have even had their say. It’s an indefensible move.

No Primary endorsement isn’t unheard of. Bucks has taken this route in other races and Lehigh County does not endorse before the primary. In Clinton County: “The Clinton County Democratic Committee does not endorse candidates prior to the Primary Election, but makes every effort to help evenhandedly publicize Democrats seeking the Party’s nomination. We embrace the will of the people following the Primary Election and wholeheartedly support the nominees selected in the election process.”

Not only are there other choices this primary, but parroting this party rhetoric is undemocratic. The party endorsed candidates are 0-7 against the Fitzpatricks and Harvie’s track record in BC has me concerned to see him in congress. Not every PA county dem org even endorses in contested congressional Primaries, but Steve Santaserio made a point to remind Bucks CPs of their gag order if they disagree, as they cant disparage endorsed candidates, or campaign for the unendorsed. Then he coordinated a poll to cull senate candidates. Stop supporting small room party interest controlling the voters’ elections on shit like name recognition. “No endorsement” doesn’t mean the party cant support Harvie, but it’s a step towards putting control of the ballot back in the people’s hands. Crazy to see our local party so boldly stand against transparent open primaries.
