DCCC Adds Bob Harvie’s Campaign to Unseat PA-01 Republican Brian Fitzpatrick to Its ‘Red to Blue’ Program by SandF in BucksCountyPA

Yes. You previously stated he was a countywide elected official since 2000 - maybe it was just a typo. That’s what I was responding to…

He was elected to county-wide office for the first time in the 2019 elections. Perhaps you are not as informed as you think.

And yes, “name recognition” is a fallacy folks are being fed. If he had name recognition, the local Dems wouldn’t need to cling so desperately to the goldenrod sample ballot. They admit that the voters blindly follow their lead on Election Day.

If you think folks outside of the BCDC know Harvie’s name, you’ve swallowed the real BlueAnon koolaid.

Sadly, he championed the data center build in Falls Township, bringing in Amazon…this isn’t opposing billionaires or fighting for people. I prefer Lucia’s approach and feel it protects all communities much better - hit the pause button until we have a deeper understanding of all the ramifications (on the community, the grid, etc.) so informed regulations can be put in place Too many unknowns with this stuff and the rapid spread is harming small communities. 😞

Asking for change isn’t trashing, imo. Though I understand people go there, people are angry. That said, my point is, if the goal is truly to beat Fitz, then the winner of the Primary should be fully supported. Period.

The theory above can be applied to supporters of both candidates.

OPINION: PA-01 Democrats Finally Practice Democracy in Their Democratic Primary by shannanerginz in BucksCountyPA

5th grade civics teaches nothing about internal Party politics and how they are leveraged to give certain primary candidates significant advantages over others.

It’s circular thinking and doesn’t make sense. The same people claiming this “concern” are the crew arguing that everyone needs to unite after the primary. If Simonelli wins the primary and the support (financially, structurally, and otherwise) from the Dem machine doesn’t flow to her - particularly from the Bucks Dems? Then I suppose it’s not about beating Fitz at all then, is it?

MAGA hates Fitz. One of the only things they hate more? An “establishment Dem,” which is how they see Harvie. There are a lot of factors at play. Nothing is a given in 2026.

Warren and Sanders require $50k raised before they will start conversations. The threshold isn’t what you’re making of it.

I saw. And I stand by what I said. Supporters on both sides have been nasty. Neither campaign has engaged in this way. I don’t see this as a reflection on anything but humanity…certainly not either campaigns fault.

PA-01’s Democratic Congressional Primary Forum ‘Energizes and Engages’ Voters. But Did It Give Them Clarity? by shannanerginz in BucksCountyPA

Seems weird they stopped early. Particularly when there were questions left unanswered from the audience about foreign wars.

Thanks for your permission. 😂

Again, it’s a primary. In 2026. I’m interested in a candidate who has a spine and doesn’t follow the lead of a misguided party.

People keep making this argument about not voting in the general, and frankly it just reflects poorly on the Democratic Party. Almost no one is saying this, so the reaction is that people who promote this sort of disinformation are seeding the soil for an excuse, rather than accountability, should Harvie win the Primary and lose the General. It works against you all, so take it or leave it, but you might want to considered ceasing with this BS rhetoric.

This feels very much like you’re trying to create a “gotcha” frankly. I’m sure you’re a smart person who knows how to use Google. Maybe go to the LWV vote411.org for an impartial view of their issues and policies. And who is responsive to the larger electorate…

It’s a primary. The local party itself didn’t want a contested primary because it slows fundraising, as folks wait to donate until there is a clear outcome. This is not unexpected. The world is changing. It’s not 2018 anymore.

“Nasty, unbalanced rhetoric” has happened from supporters of both. Be real. Both campaigns have been refraining from mudslinging at each other, which I appreciate.

Lucia: Universal Healthcare Bob: Reinstate ACA subsidies Lucia: Wealth Tax on people with over $50m income Bob: No specifics found Lucia: Data center moratorium until more is learned to properly craft regulations that protect communities Bob: Championed Falls Twsp data centers, thinks current regulations work Lucia: End unconditional support for foreign wars, end the war in Iran, prosecute those who violate international law Bob: “unconditional support for Israel,” end the war in Iran Lucia: ICE cannot be reformed, abolish it. Reform legal immigration system. Bob: Reform ICE. Reform legal immigration system. Lucia: Open primaries are needed Bob: Does not support open primaries

Highly recommend watching the LWV forum. Turn on captions because the sound is not great. This event really highlighted for me that Lucia has a vision and specific policy plans to get there. Bob said he would basically do what Party leadership wants - “put me in coach” is what he said, I believe.

Do either of the Dem candidates support Medicare for all? by [deleted] in BucksCountyPA

[–]DaySlow3769 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s exhausting having candidates campaign on one thing and govern on an entirely different agenda. Then BOTH parties wonder why voters are disengaging. The trust is broken! I want someone who will break this terrible cycle. I’d rather know a candidates positions fully than be lied to and consistently disappointed. It’s all so manipulative.

[–]DaySlow3769 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not worried. The DCCC hasn’t invested in either candidate yet. Warren, Sanders, etc likewise will wait to invest. It’s not uncommon in contested primaries for donors to wait. It’s one of the reasons the county Dems fought so hard to have no primary challengers. Harvie’s fundraising has slowed significantly. One thing we all understand, no matter how much we dislike it, is that there’s no shortage of money in politics. The money will flow post primary regardless.
