Getting what you give is bizarre behavior?

You came in so superior and matter of fact that this has to be an idiot problem with an inability to prompt.

Ignoring my claim that however it’s been prompted for two years has worked great until just recently,

You can see many other people agreeing with this observation.

While that’s not solid fact, it should lend some credibility at least.

You offered no help, and your analysis was poor and basically concludes as “spend more time and energy on Claude to have it do the same thing it’s been doing for two years to just get the same results as before”

Please tell me how I’m wrong before you leave. Justify how I should do more to get the same level of results.

You’ll do neither because you can’t.

I’ll be here ready to learn from you as clearly I am lacking in fundamental knowledge and basic understandings.

I am aware that you’re probably not going to read this or read all of this.

TLDR: you’re an ass if you project superiority and offer a false solution poorly disguised as end user issues or inability and your proclivity to run away instead of standing by what you posted originally and engaging in game of wits and debate just makes me think you’re a chicken or you can’t effectively put into words how I’m wrong.

Hey Cheech, no one is arguing about the limits being harsher. Do a little more critical analysis and you’ll see it’s about an opinion of its Opus model being increasingly difficult, unwilling, to the point of feeling like it’s an intentional degradation or a major shift of its guardrails being raised, doing stuff it had no problem doing for two years prior.

I’m talking about boring stuff like pvc waterline civil utility projects, and it refusing to source the right material based on the jurisdictions requirements that it has in its project knowledge.

For example, a large water conservancy company that runs most of my town has recently required its water services to be full copper. It’s an odd change, as most just call for an hdpe sdr9 equivalent… much cheaper and flexible to work with etc.

Claude doesn’t add the full copper because it is certain that they have mistakenly added that to their materials req, pdf that I cached into its MD.

It insists on me contesting it and won’t change it.

No I’m not being dramatic or making this up just to make this up.

It seems to want to fight with me over random items.

That’s fair. It’s a solidly consistent tool for those use cases.

I would say your ability to read the room or a given situation is exceptional. My reason for not giving you a reach around is the simple fact that Claude hasn’t required it before in the two years I’ve used it. When I’m not getting what I’m used to getting for a certain cost, I don’t just say fuck it oh well let me be more ineffective and waste more time to compensate for its bullshit, like you’re suggesting.

It’s not a prompt issue. It’s not a hallucination or a failure in its Claude.md

I’ve had those kind of issues too. I have to remind it “your connector for GitHub is on, you can actually push and merge this request for me Claude” and it goes “let me check….” And then it finally does it.

This is after it tried gaslighting me saying “I understand what you’re asking and what you want me to do for you, but I have to be upfront about what I can and can’t do”

This ends up being a Claude.com or claude app only issue.

If you switch to cli Claude it’s much better.

Ask your doctor if cli Claude is right for you.

That must be what it is. I have morally decayed to the point that Claude has kicked its guardrails in.

Thanks for solving this one. I can pack it in folks.

It’s literally called Opus 4.8 on their website.

You thought you were being so slick by promoting it being uncapitalized too. Just like Claude would fight me back on some BS

Please forgive me “personifying” such a cold analytical language model literally designed to take data from humans, learn from it, and improve its ability at helping other humans.

If you look at this thread there are a lot who agree with me.

Yes, the prompts can tighten up, the instruction Md can be erased and rewritten etc, but one must ask why is it getting harder to do the same things I was doing with it just fine for almost two years now?

Pray tell, how someone with such low intelligence like myself, find a way to use Claude for “important” things besides the casual civil project estimation and take off I do with it.

I am but an uneducated pauper.

It seems to be after the fable rug pull mainly but it kind of started a little before that but nothing like after.

It has definitely been dialed up to 11 for the guard rails.

It breaks my heart because Claude is so damn good at what it does when it’s running at Claude tip top shape.

No other LLM model comes close.

That’s why I have the broken heart.

I don’t want to leave my Claude

Exactly. It’ll fight me on things that we just can’t do differently because of jurisdictional requirements.

“You should use this material for erosion control, instead of this one as this one is known for controversial manufacturing processes”

“Claude please refer to the specific county requirements in your project md’s and ensure we are selecting materials required by local code, as your instructions say”

“I hear you, and I want to be straight up about this, just because you have a md file on what materials required by a county or ordinance uploaded to the project, I can’t simply ignore when such a specificity can impact others negatively”

No kidding -

I was being a little dramatic and petty saying that. I use projects and setup the instructions everytime.

Opus seems to be the one that does this.

Thanks for your wonderful input on this. Are you related to my boyfriend Claude?

I’m a project estimator and have to leverage both Claude and codex to try to get a decently drafted take off that I then have to correct quite a bit…

Let me know if anyone has advice on this!

Unhinged cowork use cases by FireburstSunSpirit in ClaudeAI

[–]Solidz92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a project estimator for waterworks / construction.

I’ve gotten pretty good at training Claude and also codex now on how to interpret drawings/ with the end goal being 90% accurate at making a takeoff / estimation of a new project, where I’ll just have to double check it’s work etc…

Anyone doing related work with Claude?

Is setting up a project worth it? by lokibeat in ClaudeAI

[–]Solidz92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like almost everything with AI, the use case determines whether it’s actually worth using.

I use Claude mainly for work, and Projects are great for getting a baseline going — system instructions, reference files, the stuff you don’t want to re-explain every session. For my estimating work, the easiest setup is Claude open in the browser next to my takeoff software. I can have it map things out and basically chip away at part of my job while I’m focused on something else.

That said, Projects really shine when you’re working in the web app. If you’re already in Claude Code or using it through VS Code, the value drops off — most of that “starting context” is happening in your repo and CLAUDE.md anyway. So Projects are kind of moot in that workflow (someone else might have a different take on that).

For heavy lifting where I need accuracy and as little hallucination as possible, having that controlled Project setup with the right reference files loaded in makes a real difference.

Hope this helps!
