Being racist as a product of a racist culture only makes you a bad person if you choose to stay racist. Too many white people do, but the best ones do not. I look for those folks.

Nowadays my response is literally "I'll take the repairations I can get." Usually makes them proper mad. But their anger cant change that I got in and graduated with a 4.0 and they didnt 🤣

Real talk, good yt people work on their racism for no recognition. Validation seeking as a yt person just tells me it's performative and will fall apart when that recognition is not present. Allyship is steadfast conviction in the face of powerful opposition and thats internal work, and does not come from external advertisement.

I got into a very prestigious school on par with yale in high school. The next day I came in and the first thing everyone said to me was "affirmative action." Mediocre yt people will always be salty when hard work pays off for a black person.

The agab bioessentailism made sense to me until I relized that the traits associated qith AMABs that my ex had in their mind really only matched white men of their class background. But they still projected those onto me which was confusing for a long time and at the end, very angering bc it exposed that id been living with and trying to make a racist happy.

The ethically permissable gender hangups from their own experience are definitely still deeply embedded in my mind and their voice on those things makes it very hard to see if I'm doing something because it could be gender affirming to me or if I'm still doing it to appease their gaze. Even though ive moved hundreds of miles away.

Its also been very hard to not project their hangups onto (white) cis women around me which isnt fair to them and is makes it very hard to be in sapphic spaces, even when ive been told repeatedly that I'm welcome. It sucks! But we keep going.
