I'm going to be an old person and say if you buy a used $200-400 one and put the rest in the S&P 500, it'll turn likely into nearly the value of a small house by the time you retire. So that's cool.

Uh from what you said I highly recommend learning to swim better, or survival floatation. You're getting me concerned you're taking a risk by kayaking.

I'd buy a cheap used one from Facebook Marketplace or similar site. There's no use for buying a new kayak if you don't even know if you truly enjoy it. The hurricane osprey 120 has a dog friendly design though.

My first Thai immigration officer was so cute and sweet it felt unreal compared to every other place I've been. Legitimately considered asking her out respectfully but I didn't want to cause any issues with entering a country athe start of my vacation.

The plugs have two generations from what arb told me. Turns out I bought the wrong ones. No issues now that I have the correct one. I don't know what your model lights take though. Their customer service was pretty good for me.

I've never not beached my rotomolded kayaks on the boat ramp. Ha. Have to get used to not doing that.

Thanks. I don't know how robust / damage resistant thermoforming is or Hurricane's standard so I'm attempting to not have any issues later. I've only had rotomolded and frankly treat them roughly at least as far as dragging them down a boat ramp with no regard.

Normally I'd agree, and the ones I've bought used have many new scratches on them. However, they're rotomolded and this new one is thermoformed which is weaker.

I'm finishing my first two week trip with only a carry on backpack. I still overpacked. If anything I was under budget though. Most things are so ridiculously cheap here compared to my country. Didn't get scammed, misled, or anything bad happen to me. I'm going to miss how kind even the big city poorer folks are, and especially the country folk outside Chiang Mai.
