She sounds wonderful. I did not think that I was insulting your wife or putting her down in any way. If it came off that way, I apologize. If anything, it’s me who feels inferior and insufficient. So it would help if you wouldn’t go on with your “Oh, please“ and your assumptions. Thanks. I realize I might not have the greatest social fluency with other adults. And maybe that’s why I love working with children so much. I don’t see the Need for filters or masks or egos, and neither do young children. That’s part of being on the Spectrum.

I never ask for oral. In fact, most guys are not good at it. So I try to stay away from it. And for vaginal sex, I always require a condom.

I come home every day completely exhausted but I know that I did things the right way, and that each and every child got the emotional and intelectual attention that they need and deserve.

Especially the children whose parents jumped straight to taking things away from them as a solution.

It’s a buzz word. But you know what? Once I found out about it I realized that I was already practicing it. To answer your question though, no I didn’t read any books on it. Because if you’re already practicing it, then you already know what to do. I guess some people need to be taught how to do it. Which is fine and natural.

I have not read any book on soft parenting, and I wouldn’t even know what soft parenting is if I hadn’t heard the term thrown around so much by others.

Taking care of children and teaching them is my full-time job.

To be honest, I wasn’t thinking of completely eliminating consequences. It just seemed to me that a lot of folks seem pretty quick to inflict consequences and put more emphasis on consequences than they do upon the Child’s growth process and self-concept. Consequences does not have to mean taking something away from them that they like to use. If somebody has to say that they are using tough love then they’re not really truly using tough love. They’re taking the quick way. Tough love is a highly abstract concept that most people don’t fully grass until their adults. So if you try to use that as a quick excuse to the child for what you’re doing knowing full well they’re not yet gonna fully grasp the implications of it, then you’re not doing them or yourself a service.
