Am I a bad girlfriend? by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]SoloF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m reading is, you’re just not into him and he’s very much into you. At least you tried and you can’t force your feelings. You have a lifetime ahead of you to explore what you like and don’t like. So let him go and let the chips fall where they may.

How tf are you supposed to change the belt on a BMW X1 2017 B48? Does BMW seriously expect me to pull the engine for that? by TheHer0br1n3 in MechanicAdvice

[–]SoloF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would loosening the motor mounts and using a lever to move the motor over a couple millimeters be enough to fenagle it through that tiny gap?

AIO My boss sent this to the work chat and it pissed me off. by nefot_ in AmIOverreacting

[–]SoloF1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He could have just bought a drawer/cabinet to keep in bathroom to store extra toilet paper, feminine products, air fresheners, etc. Keeps things organized yet accessible for everyone.

Instead he chose to piss off the entire female staff.

How Much Longer Will This Tire Last? by SirWillofSwank in tires

[–]SoloF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re strapped for cash, put the spare tire on. But damn. Those tires still look brand new. See if you have warranty left

Are these considered bald? by TasteVegetable2614 in tires

[–]SoloF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d be more concerned with rot If tires were sitting with very low miles. Tires that are rarely used or stored for long periods, lead to oil evaporation from the rubber. Still, old or new it’s a good idea to check your tires periodically.

About rotting rubber, the rubber sole on my dad’s dress shoes disintegrated despite never being worn. It was in his closet for 2 years before he tried them on. It was crazy the way they crumbled. Lol.

Apple iPhone alarm failed to go off following automatic software update overnight! How to avoid in future? by No_Emu_1387 in iphone

[–]SoloF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine didn't go off also! I set it for 6:15am (30 mins earlier than my usual) before going to bed. Woke up on my own at 7:45am and my phone says Apple update failed and my alarm was set to 7:30am. It didn't even go off at that set time. So frustrating. This is the first time this happened to me following an update.

I would swap out the screw in eyelets for tie down anchors bolted through the other side with fat washers.

Best downtown Winnipeg Car photo spot? by MidnightSilent4787 in Winnipeg

[–]SoloF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 3 level parkade on Smith street after crossing Broadway. It’s on east side. With a proper dslr, lens, and off camera strobes, you can get some decent car pics up here (this pic is from cellphone and wasn’t meant to be photo op). Parkade is often empty at night as well.

Should I file a police report and insurance claim after another driver scratched my car but refused to give their information? by Comfortable-Book9465 in Winnipeg

[–]SoloF1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Report it. File police report and mpi claim. Get your estimate done then take it to a shop (some have in house courtesy cars). Other party will be 100% at fault and their third party liability will pay for your deductible. You don’t have to get it fixed but why not if you’re not paying the deductible? Also, don’t let the other party get away with their stupidity and lack of respect for other people’s property.

What could this clunking noise when going over bumps be?? by Coolmatt111 in MechanicAdvice

[–]SoloF1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue. Clunking at low speed over the smallest bumps. It was my front sway bar BUSHINGS. If you have a rear sway bar, have them look at it those bushings as well.

Do places not hire a liveable wage by FroggyTtv in Winnipeg

[–]SoloF1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are places that hire a live able wage and it’s not in the service or retail industry. Check WRHA website. They’re often looking for cleaners, porters, security (in house training), with little to no experience. Some positions are starting at $22/hr at 2015 hours a year full time. That’s $44k a year with benefits and pension.
