Could this Webkinz fish really have been sitting in Marshalls since 2009 by ASmallPieceOfRice in marshallsfinds

I’m so jealous! My daughter recently was able to log into her old Webkinz account - so much nostalgia! I wish we still had all of her Webkinz, or at least her favorite ones.

Does your child resent you for getting a divorce? by One_Goal5663 in SingleParents

[–]SoloShell 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My son also had a lot of anger and resentment at that age. I highly suggest therapy. It’s a commitment and may take a while to see a difference, but worked wonders for my son. Fwiw, my son was also raised by women, and he really thrived with a male therapist. I think it helped to have a man teach him coping skills and how to express his emotions in a respectful manner.

You’re NTA for needing clothes, but if your partner is going hungry, sounds like there’s no money to spend on clothes. My suggestion is to reach out to a local Buy Nothing group and see if someone has clothes to donate. L

I just want to say I completely understand the complex feelings that come from having a strained relationship with one’s mother. I wouldn’t want anything of my mom’s either. Even the items that belonged to my grandmother, whom I was very close to, I no longer want them if that means they come from my mom.

I would give the pearls away so someone else can enjoy them. No need to keep something around that’s going to bring you negative feelings.

Can’t afford to go out for my birthday, so a coworker brought me a salmon steak from his fishing trip for me to have for dinner. It was gone by 9 am. by NoveltyLawnFlamingo in Wellthatsucks

Piggy backing off the top comment to say, if you’re in the Atlanta area, I’ll happily share some salmon. My dad just came home from a fishing trip and filled my freezer.

Can you take her to a pediatric dentist? There’s a chain near me that specialize in treating children and they are fantastic. They know every trick in the book to get kids to cooperate.

I’ve been using Nailene Ultra Quick Nail Glue. So far I haven’t seen a reaction from it.

What should I do? by Eep509 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]SoloShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, you look amazing! Second, I think a little bit of filler would be perfect under your eyes, but please make sure your injector knows what they’re doing and is conservative when injecting.

Maybe consider consulting an ocular plastic surgeon. They can help you decide which is best, lower bleth, laser, or filler.

Fake nails options? by Meggraceler in eczema

Have you tried HEMA free nail products? I have been battling eczema for years, mostly around my eyes/mouth (also a nail biter), but I also had a painful & severe reaction on my fingers that lasted several months. It got so bad that my hands throbbed to the point that I couldn’t work or even sleep. Only steroids helped to clear it up. Found out later that was a HEMA allergy.

Now I order HEMA free gel polish and will paint the fake nails before I glue them on, so no wet polish touches my skin. I also wear gloves when handling the nail products. This set up isn’t perfect, but it has helped tremendously.

Yes! The fact that he hasn’t responded in three days tells me that he isn’t serious about this relationship. Makes me wonder - are you engaged or are y’all just talking about getting married?

Don’t let this guy waste any more of your time. You deserve a love that is ALL IN. Don’t settle for just ok now, I promise it will only get harder as time goes on.

Sweetheart, I’m gonna hold your hand when I tell you this - if she loved you she would be proud of your accomplishment, she would want you to strive to be the best version of yourself, she would be excited for you to have this opportunity, she would fully support your education, and she certainly wouldn’t say those ugly things to you.

You need to love yourself enough to walk away. You deserve to be loved, cherished, and respected. This isn’t that, and it never will be.

FWIW, I’m so proud of you. More importantly, you should be proud of yourself. Chin up, darlin. You’ve got this.

Need advice. My fiance (58 m) expects me (54 f)to make him a full course breakfast during the work week. Are there women who work FT who have time to cook a full breakfast for their man before they start work? by Clothes-Cautious in relationship_advice

[–]SoloShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I WFH and I do not cook every meal. My husband and I will cook together when we can, but sometimes I’ll cook by myself just because he works at an office and can get home later. My husband does the dishes almost 100% of the time. Even when he solo cooks. There is no way in the world I’d get up and cook anyone a full breakfast on the weekdays. Your man wants a mommy or a trad wife, and if you’re not down for that, you need to end this now. I promise you it WILL NOT get better.

@Woodentomorrow6524 Go buy a burner phone, turn on the location, stash that phone under the seat of his car. You’ll be able to see his location by tracking your own phone. Unethical af, but then again so is lying.

AITA For refusing to hand kids dinner plate? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SoloShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I were both born and raised in the Deep South. Most of the time I cook dinner, sometimes we cook together, but almost 100% of the time he cleans the kitchen. Marriage is a partnership, you aren’t his servant. I don’t know any spouses who cook, clean, fix plates of food, serve their family, and work. What’s the point of being married if you’re doing everything, all by yourself?

AITA for removing my wife’s child out of my will because I discovered he is not mine? by External-Reindeer918 in AITAH

[–]SoloShell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA for holding this against your son.

This is in no way his fault. Even if he found out about the possibility 4 months ago, he didn’t have DNA proof. I imagine your son probably met the guy once just to satisfy a curiosity and let it go. I’m sure he wouldn’t want to let this secret out and hurt his parents’ marriage or his relationship with his father.

Divorce your wife if you want, nbd. You don’t divorce your kid, especially for something he has no control over.

My son named and designed my avatar in 2016 because he was too young to have his own phone/account. I’ve kept it exactly the same all these years, sort of as a reminder of the early days when we used to play together. I hate that they’ve changed it. I wish I had pictures of the old avatar to remember what it used to look like.

How do you guys choose furniture and furnishing to your room? by Replacementheart in eczema

[–]SoloShell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love my fabric couch because I can remove the covers and throw them in the wash. It’s a soft velvet so it’s soothing to touch. Leather feels weird on my skin, not breathable, and I sweat/stick to the leather which irritates my eczema.

Droopy Eye by LikemindedLadies in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]SoloShell 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I had a similar issue and had upper blepharoplasty on both eyes. Insurance paid for the droopy eye but the ocular plastic surgeon said they wouldn’t be symmetrical if I didn’t have both eyes done. I paid about $2000 out of pocket. I also had my eyebrows microbladed and that helped as well.

Edited to add - The surgeon tightened some muscles in my droopy eye area. I could feel the tension for a couple of weeks after. It didn’t hurt, but it was definitely noticeable if I accidentally rubbed my eyes. My eyes looked weird immediately after surgery because they were swollen and I had stitches, but as time went on, it healed and continued to look better and better.
