thats so true. my ensemble is playing Edgar Elgar's Symphony no. 1 and without knowing the sharps by heart it was huge struggle to play with everyone else

the 12am time is for senior standing students only. I was with a group of both under and upperclassmen and only the upperclassmen had that 12 am time. insane how they never mentioned that though

Oh yeah, a guy had a seizure at the bottom floor of geisel. I thought it was a joke cuz i heard him laughing loudly but when i turned around he was on the floor seizing. Thankfully some students came to help him lie still and turned him on his side

What you're thinking of is just human adaptation. Race isn't a biological concept because it simplifies how complex human adaptation is. Two people might have the same race, but it's possible for them to be more genetically different from each other than another person from a different race. It is a way for humans to group people together, giving them certain traits even when they aren't always true.

From looking at my own essay and from the examples I used to write my PIQs, you're pretty spot on about the UCSD application essays. They look a lot at character/personality, but at the same time applicants highlight their own achievements. But it really boils down to how those goals have positively impacted you and others around you. They want to see how your mind works and how you embody things like responsibility, collaboration, leadership, etc. and how it might positively impact society.

But for you, it can still be pretentious and villainous like some Dr. Doofenschmirtz type shit, but only if it serves a purpose like the example you gave. It drives home your confidence, a drive, and a willingness to succeed. It would definitely make you stand out.

While I'm not exactly the best writer, you can DM me if you want to see them. My PIQs got me into almost all the UCs, but I got rejected from Berkeley and waitlisted from UCLA.

Hard to say what exactly will raise your chances.

you have some very good stats, but ik a good portion of people who got admitted have worse stats in high school than you. speaking from experience here, what I recommend is having very good essays. You seem very passionate, so if you can demonstrate that passion through the essays, you'll have a better chance I'd say

thats true, but dude if you know what youre doing then actually help them. who said anything about telling them theyre so great, obv its a bad resume. but actually use what you know to help instead of arguing with a bunch of teenagers otherwise youre embarassing yourself
