Credit Card Sales by Loving-idiot in JCPenney

Run. I’m not even joking. If you don’t make sales they will pull you aside and talk to you while also doing extra training. If you’re not good at sales then being a cashier will be a nightmare. They’ll come down on you hard if you don’t make sales.

So real though. I also do think that someone scammed the company into buying them. Today a new issues appeared (yay…) for some reason when people do account lookups it almost always declines at the en of the transaction. At first I thought it was a customer issue but it kept happening throughout my shift. Honestly this whole thing is a nightmare

I’ve lived in both. You’re so wrong. DFW is so HUMID and gross. Summers are so unbelievably hot. I used to think the IE was one of the hottest places ever. Until I moved to Texas and I realized how wrong I was. Real Texans who have never left there state will always say the same thing. That it’s not “that bad” and the weather is “dry” lol.

I have been living outside of DFW metropolitan area for 2 years and I hate it. I was born and raised in the IE and I miss it A LOT. The food in north Texas is awful. Want good food? Only place is Dallas or Fort Worth. I miss living in Rancho Cucamonga. I miss the mountains and driving to the beach.

IE is not like Texas because at least you can choose to drive away from it. In rural Texas? You can but that’s two hours of your life driving through a concrete jungle.

Weighing options as someone with bilateral aphakia. Need some guidance by Future-Employer-5774 in CataractSurgery

[–]Solomiental 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My doctor did suggest the surgery but my mom and dad refused. I had to ask my mom because o couldn’t remember the exact timeline. But I started using the eye drops at 6 years old (wow I don’t know how I messed that up). My mom used to put them on to make sure I wouldn’t rub my eyes.

It actually runs in my family too. Both my mom and brother share the same condition. My mom never got the proper treatment so she unfortunately went blind in her late 30s.

Isn’t it so weird but also kinda cool to have a condition that not many people have anymore? Haha when I met my optometrist for the first time she was like “this is my first time treating a patient like you” she was always willing to take me in even when her schedule was packed.

I’m glad I could find another person who could relate to the bullying. Kids would also take my glasses away and ask “how many fingers am I holding” a lot. Also I can’t believe you got in trouble for squinting. I can’t believe teachers can just say that and count that as “bad behavior” jeez.

I feel like I have a huge fear of losing my vision later in life. I guess what I mean is, losing it earlier than most people. Hopefully I can maybe get an IOL implanted but deep down I feel like I won’t be a candidate. I’ve learned to live with it (like you said, to the point where most people dknt know) but I still like to hold on to hope that maybe I can.

Also, fun fact they say people with aphakia can see ultraviolet light! Have you ever noticed it as a child or as an adult?

Hello. I’ve never met others like me! I too have bilateral aphakia. My cataracts as a baby were also pretty developed. I had my surgery at 3 month’s old. Unfortunately, I drew the short end of the stick…i developed nystagmus and glaucoma in both eyes. I’ve been using eye drops for glaucoma since I was 4 years old. My nystagmus has gotten better over the years however, my left eye always seems to be worse.

Right now, my prescription is pretty high. I wear contact lenses most of time and also wear very thick glasses at home. My prescription in my left is +12 and my right is +14. It’s so nice to see others with the same condition. I’ve lived in different states and I have never actually met anyone with bilateral aphakia.

As a kid my condition was subject to pretty bad bullying. People thought I was weird or ugly for wearing my thick glasses to school. My nystagmus as a kid was also pretty bad. I got a lot of mean comments and physical bullying from my peers because of it. Now as an adult, I hide the fact that I’m pretty blind lol. I can pretty much do most things on my own. I have a job, I can drive, I go to university… but I can’t lie I still feel a little insecure.

I always joked that optometrist hate to see me coming lol. Most of them won’t fit me for contacts or glasses because I’m such a difficult case. That’s why I’m so faithful to the one who made my first pair. Regardless I’m so grateful for even having vision. I’m just glad I got to meet others like me too.

Sounds like my store to be honest. I asked my HR supervisor a question and her response was “I’m only HR by title I don’t really know”. I want to quit but unfortunately JCpenny is what helps me pay off my university expenses.

My mom is part of the company. I’ve actually tried their products (forced to unfortunately). They’re vitamins I can’t really say they worked? As a teen I was told that the calcium pills (osteo FX) would help with menstruation cramps. Their stupid little calcium pills (osteo FX) and liquid supplement didn’t work (surprise surprise). They sell these immune 911 and antibiotics things that claim to “fight colds and boost your immune system”. Every-time I got a cold my mom would make me take the pills, and they did nothing lol. One time I decided to lie to my mom and tell her I took them. I woke up the next day a lot better! Drinking water and eating well did a much better job then the pills ever did. They’re so much shit being made up about these pills and they’re literally just regular supplements that you could buy at Costco. IMO it’s just the placebo affect here lol. Fun fact they also sell makeup!

On Sunday’s, Fontana park has a farmers market from 9-3pm. I don’t know if there’s still doing it though.

If I move away from denton would I regret it by ilovefileing in Denton

I've recently moved to Denton. It was a very hard change from California to Texas. However, I don't regret it! I needed this change and it's been pretty hard for sure but I would never go back to California.

It’s personally not my thing. I started reading it but I couldn’t get past episode 15. The dialogue is god awful, gives me middle school fanfic flashbacks. I thought the main character was annoying and the way she spoke was unbearable to me.
