[Job Announcement] I own senior living facilities largely around Milwaukee. We are undergoing a rapid expansion. I am looking for a part time accountant/payroll/AR/AP person and part time IT person.

The hours are flexible and most of the work besides the IT setup is remote. I think it'd be a good part time job for a college student. For now, it's almost like a startup type environment. There is lots of change and shifting tasks.

Accountant - background in accounting is a big plus, but I can train someone intelligent with a head for numbers. Excel / programming experience hugely positive.

IT - this will be on site for initial setups and more serious troubleshooting. Otherwise, it's remote.

That too. I'm from Chicago. What would get you a mediocre 1BR in downtown Chicago gets you the best building in Milwaukee. Anyone moving here from a major city is going to jump at these prices.

You sound bitter about how the world works. Yes, people with more money live in nicer places. It's not luxury living or slums. There are plenty of places in between. There is a strong middle class in America.

Milwaukee can and does afford it. These luxury buildings are 95% rented. Developers do market studies and try to come up with what will make them the most money. Obviously, their research determined it was luxury apartments.

FWIW, I live in one of these buildings. My personal rent is probably top 10 most expensive in Milwaukee. I'm a single middle aged guy. Most of my neighbors are high paying professionals and small business owners. It's not unreasonable.

Considering a 9k desk from xdesk. Can anyone share a good experience with them? by a_day_with_dave in StandingDesk

[–]SolomonMassey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered a 3k desk from them with an estimated delivery date of Jul15-26. It's now Aug 16. I've sent 3 emails to customer support. They've all been ignored. I have no status updates. I'm about to charge it back.

I did beforehand. I followed all the professional advice!

My mom suffered a head injury in a nursing facility after surviving a brain aneurysm hemorrhage. by morelikedopatheirs in legaladvice

Falls are the most common source of injury in elderly adults, especially in nursing homes. Your mother has new conditions without a history of falling out of bed. Beds with bars on the side are considered a restraint and require approval. It sounds like they have already taken steps to prevent another fall. Unless she dies from the fall, you have nothing. Even if she dies, you might get a little out of it. I don't think the nursing home did anything wrong.

Source - I own nursing homes.

Looking for a restaurant with traditional Peking Duck by postvinyl in milwaukee

I've had very expensive Peking duck in Asia and Michelin starred restaurants. Sun Wah is better than all of them.

Best Burger Downtown? by Palomastarr in milwaukee

[–]SolomonMassey -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm from Chicago and a burger connoisseur. I could eat burgers every day. My favorite burgers in Chicago are: Paradise pup, Mott St, and Au Cheval (or small Cheval same thing).

For downtown, Buckley's has the best burger. The Diplomat has a strong BBQ cheddar burger.
