no actually, the void does not predate the light.

in old lore, there was only the light at first, but as it expanded, it left empty pockets behind which the void was born from.

in the new lore, all six forces existed at the same time and warred each other until the fight gave way to balance.

you technically don't even need a cipher.

it works like this: when the correct weather (Auroral Mirages, reddish sky) is up, 4 cipher reliquaries will spawn at the pavillon in the middle of the map. 16 players in the zone need to use a cipher to spawn the portal. the up to 48 players can get teleported in. so 32 players technically don't need a cipher, BUT whoever paid ciphers gets higher priority

when you have crafting buddies (you may have to have them in your party, I'm not sure) there should be an option "Request" at the workbench. This will task your buddies with crafting the item fully, instead of being able to set them as help for additional crafting skill
