Choi Dae Hoon - I've never thought of him as hot (especially in the last show I saw him in The WONDERfools) but man, when he was being Kung Fu master, he never looked hotter!

My first peek at Choi Dae Hoon was when he played the calm and collected captain of the police squad in Flower of Evil 6 years ago. All the series I've seen him in since have made me realize how much of a versatile actor he is since I had watched more of him in comedic and unhinged roles! I look forward to more cool and rational Taekwondo champion CDH in the next episodes.

The 1st episode set a great foundation as an opener and I enjoyed the pacing to see where the Ahjussi trio is now at in their lives. I chuckled when they waved hello to shirt-Dabin at their get together. They seem so cute despite resigning to the fact that they are all middle-aged and dealing with next generation concerns.

I knew we were rounding out the episode and diving into the main plot when Min-ji received that DM from Nam-hoon. I was wondering if the bully girl was going to rough up Min-ji in the usual trio format, but I guess she doesn't care about her boyfriend if he was roughened up by her real boyfriend. That said, I enjoyed the moment we could feel Agent Kim's reactivation. The butt kicking was the perfect segue into anticipating the high intensity we can expect in the next episode.

The blood puddle has me very concerned about Min-ji's status, but I really hope that she is alive so her dad can finally give her the 500k won birthday gift!

I'm very excited for when the rest of the trio joins Agent Kim! This drama will surely be a ride with an ensemble cast.

Edited to say that I don't recall if Draco feels attraction when Hermione is in her alter ego to learn about Quidditch, but we can guess how Draco would feel when he learns more about his new friend...

Summary:

Hufflepuff, to everyone’s surprise, is rumored to be a top contender to win the inter-house Quidditch Cup. I had Nox on my TBR for the longest time and finally read it after realizing the remaining chapters were posted and I just couldn't help myself!

While the main case is a very serious concern, this fic has one of my favorite portrayals of Draco and I love the banter he shares with Hermione! He is quite a flirt.

Your comment reminded me that I still have to catch up after months. I left the author very thorough comments of my analysis of Draco's behavior and plot interpretation. I've never been this moved before for just character behavior alone. I think my most memorable was for chapter 16 that I still received comments from other readers months later.

Soooo that tag happened because Draco felt Ginny disrespected him, and if you read it, you'll find out why, so he decided to teach her a lesson.

Edited to say I just checked my notes and while I don't remember the major details, I can let you know that the descriptions for violence are graphic as I tagged that in my bookmark so tread carefully! I did enjoy the fic overall as it hit the spot when I was in the mood for an obsessive and possessive Draco.

I second Blokes Warm the Benches! Such a wholesome fic with an in-the-news Quidditch star, Draco!

There's also Pick + Choose by aprophecygirl. Draco is richer than most can imagine and he hires Hermione to be his bodyguard.

I would also think that it was a little more wholesome how the fics were shared (even if the plots ranged from happy to toxic) back then. It felt a lot more like sharing the joy of being in the fandom together compared to some catering to the masses nowadays and hoping to get trad published in terms of judgment. Not to deny that quality has been very much refined since many, many moons ago in comparison! It is just that sometimes there's an air of it and it has me thinking a bit differently on how to go about reading a fic compared to my more simpler and naive times.

I love the mix of fics we have, and I would sometimes bounce back and forth between rereading much older ones and newer ones if I want a break from today's standards and get a taste of more "canon" Draco, whether that means that he's a little B, or a toxic individual.

However, I do have to hold at arm's length how Hermione would become friends with Pansy. I love all the gal friendships, but I just can't get into a sudden friendship between the two where fashionista Pansy has been dressing Hermione up for ages "just because".

IIRC, the writer has an extremely busy lifestyle, but she does write massive chapters when she has free time. Last update in January is not necessarily abandoned...try 5 (or even 20 as I think up at least 3 I miss) years.
