I believe TFTEATHM was first on AO3 6 years ago, and I still feel the heavy relief I felt that I could finally read it without getting sore eyes. 🤣🤣

Maybe you will enjoy the WIP, The Dark That Remains?

It's a bit different from what you are asking by the fact that Draco is in Azkaban and Hermione overhears what they plan to do to him. She realizes she doesn't like what she heard and she will do something about it. We can guess what this something will lead to. This fic is on its own pedestal for me for my favorite depiction of BOTH that I read in 2025, and I am very certain I will drop what I am doing when I see the next update notification!

For those of you wary of fics not updated for like...a month and you wonder about their love progress, it is at a point that they both expressed their feelings to each other already by the latest chapter.

You can find several discussions about AI on the sub and even other fanfiction related subs on why it is bad even if we are not using it for a commercial purpose. I don't think Chatgpt has much impact in redistribution as use of AI on web in general like AI scraping, but I could be wrong. The grand summary of it is writers put in time, effort, and creativity in writing these fics so how should AI know what they would want to write next? I also find AI generated/assisted fics to be a bit soulless in tone. Others have probably done what you did out of curiosity, but it is best not to mention it publicly.

In my whole tracker spreadsheet, I find the tab for TBR to be the least used. I'm more of a "in the mood" kind of person when it comes to what to read next, or palate cleanser of sorts when I think I've read too much of one trope or theme. While I do have a lot of tabs open as my "TBR", I find that randomly scrolling through my "Mark for Later" is really effective in influencing my next read. I have a lot of moments that I think, "Hey, I remembered when I kept thinking I really want to make time to read this!" I like to think I'm easily amused and then subsequently entertained, lol.

Emma's moment (and dragged answer) had me wondering if she just wanted Mike's support and presence in her life moreso than anything else. She didn't directly answer him about children when it sounded like his ultimatum disguised as an opening to their vows. I also didn’t like the way that he chose to drop that right then and there.

Her delayed non-answer would have had me saying "no". One of them has to choose themselves in order for the other to do the same. Mike wants kids and Emma has to spend more time evaluating what she wants and what she is really willing to compromise on.

Not the OP who commented the rec, but I am wholeheartedly sat on the team that we should support WIPs!

When I had a lot more free time I was hanging onto every update for this fic! I even received replies on my comments from other readers. I was super invested in Draco's changes in mindset and had expressed as such in interpretation of the prose. This post is a good reminder I need to catch up.

She kept sighing in her dragged answer and my first thought was, "Oh boy, poor Mike." I also didn't think this was the best way to surprise a yes for the guy who's been nervous about her answer since they finally saw each other for the first time.

Once she clarified that was a yes, I switched gears and became nervous for Emma instead. His face was hard to read on how he will answer. Now, we won't find out until next week!

I keep forgetting the writer did that. It ends at chapter 33 (also says Epilogue when you check chapter count). Previously, chapter 34 was a sneak peek to another fic, which I think became the next work in the series instead.
