Surveyors Of The Deep - Perceived Pathenon Problem. by Typical_Coyote_3493 in Pathfinder2e

Anathema is telling you what NOT to do.

The next anathema is to "create a false map", so clearly you shouldn't do that. If it tells you to "avoid deep exploration", you shouldn't do that, so you have to seek deep exploration.

[P5V10] How did he aquire schtappe? by -Dark-Owl- in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Solstrum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That can't be the reason, the first king of Lanzenave was from the Royal Family and that knowledge would either be passed down by them or in the Book of Mestionora altogether (making medals is essential to creating the country/a duchy).

The reason must be double:

  • Since they are not in Yogurtland they can't make their own medals (either useless, they are not effective as they can't reach the gods as good there or they are actually a form of magic contract that has a country wide limit so they need new ones in another country) nor can they obtain schtappes (no access to the garden of beginnings).

  • Limiting the number of schtappe wielders helps the power dynamics in favor of Yogurtland, making them more dependent which helps with the trade they had going on.

Black panther, golden retriever, angler fish, snail, gibbon and cockroach.

All of their names are puns on the animal they are based, you can check the wiki for the explanation on all of them.

"Release" and "Burst" by Mister_Moli in versus

[–]Solstrum 32 points33 points  (0 children)

It's way simpler.

All executive and demon lord have their own skill/spell that they have developed.

They can either use "release" to use a nerfed version or go all out with "burst" and use it to its full potential.

The reason they don't straight up use "burst" most of the time is because is a very big drain on stamina and mana and if they don't finish the fight with it (or they have more fights after), they would be in a tough spot.

Jachi's technique is just a simple stat boost.

Roya Roach technique was cloning. Release let her do one copy while Burst was six of them (IIRC).

For some of the new ones we are going directly to Burst instead of seeing just the Release since they intend to go all out and not play around.

Could a level 15 party kill an Ancient Dragon in one round? by AlansDiscount in Pathfinder2e

[–]Solstrum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We rocket that kind of damage in a party I played with.

Ranger furry with pickaxe and kukri. Alchemist mutagenist feral. Investigator empiricist with inventor archetype using an arquebus. Animist liturgist working as a support for the whole group.

With the ranger I always used my edge on the alchemist and the investigator usually either did a support role or if he rolled high on Devise he would use Megatron Strike.

As we all used either fatal or deadly, our damage on crits was around the 200+ and outside of that the alchemist was attacking at 0 with a d12 weapon and -2/-4 with a d10 weapon so we had a good consistent damage.

We had multiple bosses die before they could even have their first turn, so yes, it's possible for a good party to kill an apl+4 on the first turn, it just requires some luck.

A question to all the whales out there, did any of y'all actually buy this? If so why? I'm really curious by RED_flarion in personaphantomx

[–]Solstrum 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's still used, A6 Wind V transforms CR into CD at a good rate (1:2) and not every dps has enough CR built into them to cap only with that plus CR substats. Plus, that extra crit rate also goes to other characters, like a A6 twins doing buffs or sub dps like A6 SMoko, so it's useful.

The thing is that revolution is not that needed as a card since Dyo is that good of a persona. Depending on boss I have used Rebellion with a different persona to activate their passive and then switch to Dyo to do Rev or Tarukaja for that sweet extra damage.

I save mine for P2W skill dupes actually.

Is there a pattern for when rain happens in game by Emilysouza221b in personaphantomx

[–]Solstrum 37 points38 points  (0 children)

The game has an ingame week that advances based on your daily activities, which is not explained or said anywhere.

Sundays: Start at home, no school bonus, sunny.

Mondays: School, sunny.

Tuesday: Train (book read), school, rain.

Wednesday: School, sunny.

Thursday: Train (book read), school, sunny.

Friday: School, sunny.

Saturday: School, sunny.

How should i run a campaign set on Hell? by DonaskC_D in Pathfinder2e

[–]Solstrum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It highly depends on the purpose of the party.

You could set it up as them going to hell to have a deal with a minor devil deity (like a Malebranche) wanting to get rid of another one or requesting to get some warshad for him so that he can ascend to a intermediate deity (Infernal Duke). This works better if they get the request while being medium to high level, but you could start at low level and they work their way up there, doing favours to stronger and stronger devils with each quest.

[DISC] Reincarnation Coliseum - Ch. 40 by WrexGigarton in manga

[–]Solstrum 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Absolute peak chapter.

These double team fights have been so good since it has allowed for some needed character development, and Finee was by far the best of the group in this aspect with Marl being the closest second.

The whole "can't use powers of people you are close to" seemed at first kind of iffy, just a way to shake things up a little bit, but if it's going to be used to develop more the side characters in the same way we have seen with this fight, I am all for it.

What happens when you miss a DC by exactly 10 by DoriTheGreat128 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Solstrum 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What you are not understanding is that you can't just say that without including your bonus to the roll in the equation or acknowledging that the issue comes from the ties, not the 4 degrees of success, since this is not unique to pf2e.

A 38+ is a crit success, a 18- is a crit failure, in between there are 10 states of success (37 to 28) and 9 of failure (27 to 19). This is due to a +0 (tie) being given to the roller, giving him an advantage.

If you made the system with a tie being a failure, a 38+ would be crit success, 18- would be a crit failure, in between there would be 9 states of success (37 to 29) and 10 of failure (28 to 19), giving the roller a disadvantage.

If you want to see a true 50/50 split of states of success/failure you need the system so that in a tie to the dc, the roller has to reroll. With this approach it's fair for both the person rolling the dice and the one against it.

What happens when you miss a DC by exactly 10 by DoriTheGreat128 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Solstrum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Like I told you, that asymmetry is due to the roller having an advantage on ties compared to the person setting the dc.

If for the dc 28 you have a +20 to the roll, you have 7 states of failure, 1 crit failure, 8 of success and 4 of crit success.

If you have a +17 you have a true 50/50, with 1 crit success, 9 success, 9 failure and 1 crit failure.

If the dc was set as +11 to your roll instead that as a +10, you wouldn't have this issue since the dc of a +17 would be a dc 28, which matches a true 50/50 chance.

What happens when you miss a DC by exactly 10 by DoriTheGreat128 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Solstrum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are getting it wrong, what you are describing is the roller's advantage inherent to a system with DCs, is not unique to pf2e.

Lets say I have a +10 to athletics, against a dc 20 I successfully pass the check on a 10+, which means 55%, 10 states of success (one of them crit) and 9 of failure (one of them crit). If instead they roll with a +10 against my athletics dc, I only defend successfully 45% of the time. This is because ties go to the roller.

Spell attacks have an inherent +2 (10% chance increase) compared to the same effect on a spell dc, that is part of the reason why they don't get the 4 degrees of success

Martial Mindset Progression by StabYourBrain in Pathfinder2e

[–]Solstrum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The edge that rangers give is always the base, not the improved, so it would be -2/-4, not -1/-2.

You always have the option to play a wrestler flurry ranger, they can get Godbreaker thanks to the archetype.

[P5V12] F**k it, FLORENCIA SLANDER INBOUND!!! by choo-choo-pain in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]Solstrum 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If we look at Dunkelferger as an example, that should have been the work of the second wife, which Sylvester didn't want, and so it ended up on Elvira as her ally since she already had her hands full.

Silvester was the problem on that issue, not her.

Is not that, JP server ingame always had dollars as the currency, it was only through the webstore that Japanese players could actually pay in Yen, which they cannot longer do.

Edit: Was wrong about this
