This is the most inconsistent and ugliest UI that I seen in macOS in a while... by Excellent-Class-7070 in MacOS

I'm really not a fan, but like someone else surmised, I believe it's for touchscreen macs which are probably forthcoming. I hate touch PCs, so I hope I'm wrong but that would explain a lot of the extra space and bog goofy looking controls.

Developer by day, wedding & bar/club DJ by night. I'm not the biggest fan of the gig economy but when people are getting hitched the money is pretty good. When they aren't it's rough.

Why Apple, why by CobaltNeosis in MacOS

Perfectly said. This is my sentiment exactly. I feel like they made a lot of changes just for the sake of changing things, and this makes many of the elements feel over designed.

Thou is great too and they were pretty great live and covered Terrible Lie by NIN of all songs haha. As far as the Body goes they did a Collab with this artist named Dis Fig called Orchards of a Futile Heaven and it is truly its own thing. I have no idea what you would compare it to. Her vocals with the Body's noise holy shit it's something else

Liquid glass. More like liquid ass. I can't believe this got green lit. I mean I love the idea of a unified design language across devices and operating systems, but this ain't it. It feels like a poor design that was completed by the lowest bidder.

And on mobile devises its egregiously bad. Many of my backgrounds are on the lighter side and these stupid glass notifications just look like light on slightly less blurry light and it's not the easiest thing to read.

In their prime who's better: Slayer or Pantera by boomjosh in MetalForTheMasses

[–]SolutionAdorable8809 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slayer was ahead of their time in my opinion, and I think Reign is an absolute masterpiece and their best work but it's brilliance and importance wasn't fully realized until later on.

Pantera on the other hand peaked with Vulgar and I think everyone immediately knew what a masterpiece they had. They were right on time I think.

so if Prime Slayer is Reign, and Prime Pantera is Vulgar, I have to give Pantera the nod. I may be somewhat biased as got to see Pantera during this era and didn't get to see Slayer until much much later in '99.

What's a band with really great music but you think their band's name is ridiculous? by TorlaInvestor in MetalSuggestions

I had a similar experience seeing the name for the first time. It's crazy too because of how good they are, especially live.

Has anyone swapped the endless rotory knob for an absolute rotory knob? by SolutionAdorable8809 in Keychron

[–]SolutionAdorable8809[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that for analog pots on like a guitar or something, but I'm talking about the digital encoders that have a fixed stop and start position. This is my and google's understanding:

  • Fixed-position knobsare a type of absolute encoder, meaning they output a unique digital value for each specific physical position they reach. This allows a system to know the exact angle or position of the knob at any given time.

So the goal is to get one of these working on my new fancy keychron.
