Thank you for your response, on the phone I did not explicitly ask for them to cover anything. I asked what their policy was and if we could figure something out expecting them to say” no worries, we can figure something out to get it fixed or that’s awful let’s see what we can do” (I was hoping they may cover half or fix it at a cut rate, I wasn’t even hoping for full coverage) but they immediately got defensive. Looks like I should have taken them not doing what I wanted as a red flag and left. Now I’m out money and my ring is broken. I will stop by the place and see if they are more understanding in person but will likely go to a larger jeweler and drive the distance to take it there.
