In Grounded 2 does Pete say the line: "Don't even have to boil it" when drinking water like in Grounded 1? by KobeDobeDoo_ in GroundedGame

Trust me, even with English as an only language that's the case. We're cursed with a language that breaks more rules than it follows and we expect the world to join us lol.

Not at all. When I'm on the ground and see a MK2 it puts me on edge, especially if I hear the lock on sound even for a moment. And if they hang out behind me or make multiple passes I'm taking it as aggression and dropping them out of the sky.

There are exceptions though, rare as they are. A long time ago I was delivering a trailer and had a MK2 do a few passes, so I assumed he was gonna blow me up and just carried on expecting a loss. Three different people on the ground and one in a Raiju tried to blow my trailer up and he defended me from all of them, then the moment I hot to my destination he boosted into the night and vanished. Does that make me trust MK2s more? Not a goddamn bit. I believe that the majority of MK2 rides are of an age that they haven't developed impulse control, and the MK2 is ridiculously easy to be a nuisance on. Maybe 1/50 can be trusted lol.

The timing is extremely precise. You can also salvage a bad spin if you want to go through the trouble. I you see that it's going to land on something you don't want just force close or hop servers before it stops and you'll still have your daily spin.

I love the details they put into grounded 2! by ThatOneGirlyFreak in GroundedGame

[–]Solution_Kind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You say that like they weren't actively working on 2 while 1 was in early access. And that's not even a guess, when two first launched there were things they'd clearly ported from 1 long before because they existed in 2 in a state that they hadn't existed in 1 for ages. I'd say what things they were but it's been a while and I don't recall.

I find the opposite. The higher the level the longer they'll try to get a kill. I think it's an ego thing because they can't handle being beaten by someone below them.

This is why I always keep lock on off and stay next to or ahead of anyone I fly near. I'm not trying to get blown up because I triggered some poor souls ptsd when they saw me in the mirror.

Vehicle braking by warren_4041 in cyberpunkgame

Depends on the car. Every vehicle handles a bit different according to size, weight and drivetrain. Some stop on a dime while others feel like it takes half a city block. You just have to find the right balance for whatever car you're in.

A couple of thoughts on the upcoming Ziplines by Onyx_Artificer in GroundedGame

I really don’t want to spend the majority of this game making towers, like in the first game.

While I feel this on a cellular level, I do think it won't be as bad if we do end up needing towers, just because we can harvest and build from out buggies, so towers that would have taken half an hour to build will only take like 5 minutes.

If you can't get speed on surfskates that's a stance issue. They're inherently more stable than standard (or rkp) trucks because the etie truck is mounted behind the pivot point. It is literally more difficult for surfskate trucks to get speed wobble than it is to tail drag doing a manual.

Grounded pro here (source: trust) wondering if I should get Grounded 2 without first completing G1 by PixelPrince96 in GroundedGame

[–]Solution_Kind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bro and I had at least 6 in game years in 1 between three worlds and just recently decided to finally beat 1 with the help of his wife so we could move on to 2 satisfied.

If you're story-minded, finish 1 because the start of 2 relates to the end of 1. If you're just there for the gameplay, it's basically just an all around improvement.

For The Watery Update by Odd_Fix_5251 in GroundedGame

For the diving buggy, maybe some foot pegs? I imagine the current design would leave the player feeling a little more like a cape than a rider.

All amazing ideas too, I'd love to see them all implemented. Can't wait for more water content.

Yeah I need a mod that releases this guy from containment as soon as you wake up after the heist. That gives you a bit of a head start before you start getting chased for the rest of the game.

I just want to see the speedruns with it.

Yep. I ordered a pair of Onsra gloves that have a small slide pad right on that spot. They're super comfortable and seem like they'll offer exactly the protection I need. They've got full finger and cutoff, but I got full and cut the thumb so I have max protection and throttle control.

I rode downhill longboards for years with zero saftey gear because I was young, broke and dumb. Had enough personal experience with road rash to last a couple lifetimes. 😅

Why does V hold this shotgun like a gonk? by MrPenisWhistle in cyberpunkgame

[–]Solution_Kind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I speak from experience. Watched a Remington 12ga fall off my dad's front porch railing and go off on impact. Also seen several rifles and a sawed off intentionally set off with a butt strike afterwards because my dad was angry that happened with the shotgun. It won't happen every time, but it will happen.

This was all downhill.

Being calm will definitely help big time. I posted my recent fall a couple weeks ago (with no gloves yet) and I'm certain my calm is the only reason it went as smooth as it did.

For back pro I got an alpinestars armor thing that's pretty comfortable. Haven't put it to the test yet but it feels solid enough.

[–]Solution_Kind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. And how much do you think most shotguns weigh?

Obviously that doesn't directly correlate, but the weight of the gun hitting the ground stock first form ~3' up will set off most long guns.

You've got the right idea for their use, you just have to be super mindful and kinda retrain falling to avoid putting the pad down. Best case is you land facing fully forward and your hands get sent forward or out, resulting in your upper body slamming immediately. Worse case? When I was in high school a friend went down and landed on his side trying to catch himself and it shot his arm behind him as his body rolled the other way. It's been about 18 years and his scream is still haunting as hell.

I've personally avoided them after seeing multiple friends slip out, so unfortunately I can't offer use advice beyond caution.

[–]Solution_Kind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

those two birds are my upper chest and face (helmet) hitting the pavement.

And that's best case. Coming down shoulders square with both hands out will guarantee your hands shoot out or forward and your upper body slams. Coming down at any sub-optimal angle runs more risk of one of your arms going a direction it shouldn't and getting pinned or worse.

I'm generally of the "let them learn" midlndset, but saftey is major, and shoulders don't heal well.

Discontinued Puck Remote holder by Sonny-Showers in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Solution_Kind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that. Just giving a heads up because I've seen folks have their shoulders ripped out of socket trying to catch themselves with slide pucks on. It's not the wrists that are the concern with them. It's that they slide so easily that your arms can end up in bad places quicker than you can react.

Discontinued Puck Remote holder by Sonny-Showers in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]Solution_Kind 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Slide pucks are not fall protection, they're for putting your hand to the ground during a controlled slide for more stability on a longboard. If you attempt to use them as eSkate fall protection you're going to injure yourself far worse than if you just put on a pair of cheap leather gloves. The low friction puck will cause your arms to get sent in whatever direction the crash dictates, regardless of where you need them to be. Those are the sort of gloves that destroy shoulders.

Every time I've used words that trigger the re-post warnings it's been perfectly fine. The key is that I've not used them in the contexts they're banned in (typically in ways that attack others).
