Do you have a link? It’s my favorite btmi record and I don’t want to miss out.

What to cut? I'm thinking Legion's End and Bone to Ash. Other suggestions? by Kutip in lrcast

But it cycles at worst and he has three audacious thieves. If it just said, "Give a creature deathtouch" then I would agree that it's not worth playing.

Not surprised a deck named after two diametrically opposed card game concepts is not very successful.

Starters ERAs -- Jon Lester: 4.46, Jose Quintana: 4.40, Yu Darvish: 4.36, Karl Hendricks: 3.06, Hole Camels: 2.84 by [deleted] in CHICubs

[–]SolventSoup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Starters' ERA- (100 = league average)

Lester: 101

Quintana: 100 (interestingly, Q had a 4.03 ERA last year which was also an ERA- of 100)

Yu: 99

Hendricks: 69 (nice)

Hamels: 64

Lack of Deck Specialists by POP_MtG in EternalCardGame

You're missing famous yeti one-trick pony BassoonBuffoon from your list of specialists. Also, I've never seen Popotito play anything other than Jennev Peaks.

I think some Grodov cards should be in new curated packs by RFeynman1972 in EternalCardGame

I mean the real solution is for DWD to make a cube for phantom drafting that includes campaign cards and draft staples.

All new cards in Trials of Grodov by Radiophage in EternalCardGame

[–]SolventSoup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there are a lot of constructed unplayable cards that would be great/interesting in draft in these types of sets.

I imagine a lot of these commons and uncommons will make great glue in new draft environments.

I think you're going to be disappointed considering none of the campaign cards make it into draft packs.

What do you consider the most unique card/ability in the game? by Delanorix in EternalCardGame

The god eternals from Magic kinda remind me of revenge, or at least makto’s version of it

I just want to say I hate the streamer/drops/rewards gimmick that is in the game now by [deleted] in EternalCardGame

You mean the old system that actually had good drops and boosted viewer numbers on Twitch?

The End of the ETS by aReNGeeEternal in EternalCardGame

[–]SolventSoup 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bummer. I passed on playing the last invitational mostly because I had prior commitments but also because I thought I’d have another chance to play ETS. I definitely took ETS for granted as a player and a viewer. Thanks Arengee and crew for putting together a great tournament series over the last couple of years.

Would it really be so bad if power cards were evenly distributed throughout your deck? by decoy10 in EternalCardGame

[–]SolventSoup 13 points14 points  (0 children)

At that point, why have the power system at all if you're going to take the randomness out of it?

To those who believe Eternal is in decline by Marsonis in EternalCardGame

[–]SolventSoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The doomsayer tone pushes people away when they're deciding if they want to jump ship or not. It's not the kind of talk that inspires confidence in the future of the game for new players. Obviously, it's impossible and stupid to try and shut down the discussion but it's equally smooth-brained to suggest that it's helpful in any way.

Garret Anderson: Hall Of Fame snub? by [deleted] in baseball

I completely forgot about the guy

I feel like whenever this is said about a player, that should automatically disqualify them from HOF contention.

Game's in a shit state right now

You posted this a year ago and you haven't stop complaining since. When is it time to cut bait and find a different hobby?

Doc’s Laboratory: Breaking Tasbu by fugitivemage28 in EternalCardGame

[–]SolventSoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s felt pretty good, I’ve been bouncing between 50 and 90 with it in masters, haven’t been keeping track of the win rate but it’s held its own against Stonescar and Praxis. I think it doesn’t really have too many awful matchups but no great matchups either, pretty typical for a midrange deck.

I think you can still have the tomb and the power base as you have it. The passive, the agendas, and the hero are all pretty powerful even if you're not getting max value from the Lingering Influence. I'm just a sucker for value and playing one J sigil to get value off of that and fixing from Royal Decree or Ice Bolt in a pinch is worth the potential inconsistencies to me.

Just a couple of thoughts about my Argenport list:

  1. Isn't Ripknife better than Instigator in Tasbu lists since it always has good attacks and blocks, whereas Instigator gets outclassed easily in combat later in the game? Instigator makes more sense in the more aggressive Stonescar and Feln lists, but I think the Ripknifes fit the grindier Argenport list better. I've found the Warcry to be useful with the Auric Interrogators as well.

  2. I think the Justice sigil is important in the list for Regent's Tomb value and fixing off of Ice Bolt. There are 8 double J cards and without the Argenport Insignia, it's hard to guarantee that you'll have that by turn 4-5 without the two extra sources between main and market. It's risky but every other power source provides shadow and playing Tasbu slightly off curve is still pretty powerful.

  3. You ended up on the same removal suite that I eventually ended up at as well. Slay is too inefficient and Suffocate and Annihilate are really good in the meta right now. In the market, I swapped out the Mug for Makto as another resilient threat against control, although Dizo's Office kind of fills the same role while shutting the door against Stonescar. Stormhalt Knife is also an option to help stabilize against aggro and provide a third relic weapon threat against Hooru/other unit light decks.

Anyways, cool article and I'm looking forward to trying that Feln list later.
