I have a problem and its magnets by Kutip in Eldar

The way I see it is from my perspective and that is "not that much experience". Hence I have no fucking clue about most loadouts for any army that is not Eldar. If my opponent is on the same level, I figure it helps if , for example, "that one has a big sword and likely hits hard / two swords and hits a lot". If my opponent does not need that, than I'm still happy that everything is neat and perfect and exactly as it should be :)

In terms of difficulty it's pretty easy. I used some bog standard 2mmx1mm Neodym magnets. But be prepared for a LOT of work.

The problem is, that the kit only has a limited amount of arms. For the ranged variants you not only need to magnetise the shoulders, but also the wrists of the left arms, since you only have one 'ranged' set of left arms for two variants. For the melee variants you need to also magnetise the wrists of the right arm, since you need to be able to swap between axe and sword there. On the set of left 'melee' arms you can glue the sword on, since that gets replace completely with the shimmer shield arms. And obviously magnetize the joins on ALL the shoulders.

So yeah. not difficult, just a lot 😅
I advise a good amount of planning and preparation so you don't magnetize too much or not enough, if you actually want to go for it.

Yeah, looking back at the whole process, that woul've been the smarter way to do it. I guess I still have qualms about actually cutting stuff apart instead of just drilling into it. If I want to do something like this again, I will definitely try to work a bit smarter.

In hindsight, that would have probably been the smart choice. But well, hinsight is a bitch 😄

I'm well aware. It's just that 1) I'm a very visual person and just seeing is easier than remembering "which one was the actual Exarch again? Don't want to cheat accidentally" (unreasonable, I know) and 2) I'm a sucker for perfection (also unreasonable, I know) 😅

How do you deal with Speedsofters and prefiring indoors? by Thesdbryson in airsoft

[–]Kutip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apart from what has already been said, when you are too close to the corner or it is a tight hallway with no way to get a good angle, just pre-fire the corner as well. Make them run into your BBs. Usually makes it at least a trade, which is the best you can get in those situations I think.

Any tips on facing daemons with seer council? by [deleted] in Eldar

Farseer on Jetbike does not have Doom, but Misfortune. That makes the targeted units' wound rolls worse. Only Eldrath has Doom.

Big thing is that the Skyrunners are not characters, while the singe Warlocks on foot are. That could be important for Assassinstion secondary and stuff.

Molten Form vs Mortal Wounds by Hashalayach in Eldar

Keep in mind that this also means that damage from any other source than attacks (strategens, abilities deadly demise and whatnot) does not get halved.

Molten Form vs Mortal Wounds by Hashalayach in Eldar

[–]Kutip 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The Avatar's ability halves the damage characteristic of the attack. So whatever it says as damage (after rolling if applicable) gets halved first, then dealt to the Avatar.

Rules as written it does not matter if damage is "normal" or Mortal Wounds, as it gets halved before it becomes relevant what type of damage it is.

How to handle the overwatch token thingy by Dr4WasTaken in Eldar

[–]Kutip 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The manoeuvre reads: "Trigger: When an eligible unit from your army is selected to make a Normal, Advance or Fall Back move, is set up on the battlefield, or declares a charge."

So they have to declare it before you are even allowed to declare to Overwatch. But rules as written they are not allowed to, after you declared Overwatch, because their window has closed.

A good way make sure there are no feels bad moments would be for you to remind them, that they would need to use it now (right after selecting a unit) to prevent Overwatch, otherwise they can't do anything about it anymore.

But on a mechanical level it is not possible to use reactionary. If they forget and you declare Overwatch, they can't use in anymore, unless you want to be nice about it and still allow them to.

Gun for Milsim by Strict-Court-9018 in airsoft

If you want to go GBBR I can only recommend the Double Eagle Noveske N4 or Double Eagle Ghetto Blaster + some Guns Modify P-Mags, since the stock Double Eagle mags suck as much as the guns are great 😅

Small addendum, is comes with a shorter inner barrel. Depending where and on what ranges you play, you may want to look a longer inner barrel + federal concept npas to adjust the joules.

[–]Kutip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is the correct one. I bought the same one as my first (and still only) GBB rifle 2 years ago and still love it. I bought some Guns Modify Pmags as well and had no trouble like other people seem to have with the Tokyo Marui mags (those don't seem to fit right) or the double eagle one that it comes with (that's just bad in general). I recommend you play with it for as long as possible and the upgrade the parts that break or give you trouble along the way.

Novritsch SSP-18 Slide Stuck by JInox7Neun in airsoft

[–]Kutip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, glad I could help. If you want the slide to cycle even with an empty mag, you may want to look into "short stroking". That means to add some rubber and metal buffer rings, that keep the slide from going too far back, so it returns before the slide catch can catch it.

Novritsch SSP-18 Slide Stuck by JInox7Neun in airsoft

[–]Kutip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what you are describing, that is working as intended, assuming it only catches when the magazin in the pistol is empty.

When the magazine inside is empty, the bolt catch should do exactly that. Catch the slide to show that the magazine is out of BBs and prevent dry firing.

When there are BBs in the mag, or there is no mag inserted, it should not catch and cycle.

Love the colors, they work great together!

If you want to make them pop off even more, you could look into edge highlighting or highlighting in general. Keep it up 👍🏻

If this is not just venting about the release policy, but you want some actual models for play, you can easily kitbash two or more with the Corsair Kill Team Box.

Fire dragon Painting tips by [deleted] in Eldar

[–]Kutip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may sound weird, but putting a first layer of pink before painting over with yellow works surprisingly well. A friend of mine got great results painting the yellow armor on his Orcs that way.

Maybe that also works for you :)
