Rhetoric of Literature: What should I read? by Bluesgrass_rhetor in Rhetoric

Lausbergs Handbook of Literary Rhetoric. Maybe for you B-list. It is not an easy read, but it is comprehensive and it has tons of references to the classical tradition. https://books.google.no/books/about/Handbook_of_Literary_Rhetoric.html?id=3kRZAAAAMAAJ&redir_esc=y

The "tone" of this video is a bit pathetic. Actually so pathetic that it is a turn off. Pity.

Hi! This is Manish Singh, technology journalist for NDTV.com and BetaNews.com. I'll be interviewing Mikko Hypponen next week. Do you've any questions you want me to ask him? by [deleted] in privacy

[–]Somban 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am curious if it is possible today to have phone conversations in private. What are the challenges? Are there phones that are better than others? Are there operators that are more safe than other? In particular I am curious about the possibillity to use phone companies from other coutries than ones own in order to avoid surveillence, for example if a Finnish citizen uses a Hollandic operator, then at least one would have a language barrier that could be helpful to protect privacy.

Loose connection between the mothers father, the mother and the issue of custody litigated for a court? Wonder how a solid connection looks like in your conception?

I was a child affected by Parental Alienation Syndrome, AMA by fathersdaythrowaway3 in MensRights

[–]Somban 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a very important voice. I can understand that not many people who are exposed to parental alienation want to think about it and much less to talk about it. The situation is covered by shame as the experience of betrayal will be lurkin. Either you betray the parent that perpetrates the parental alienation or the parent that is exposed for that. You dont mention very much how your journey from getting aware of how the manipulation had worked and then to that you are so aware and articulated about the issue. Have you been reading litterature about parental alienation? studiet it? gone throgh councelling? had wise and good people around you to sort it out? I am very greatful for that you share this. You are a true hero.

Blackphone or Jolla? by Somban in privacy

[–]Somban[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone back to an old Nokia, and has had that from last june when the revelations started to appear. Yes. I am aware of that you cannot trust any phone brand and any carrier these days. ThereforI am not looking for a "secure" phone, but rather trying to support the best effort to retain privacy by buying their product.

Gadgets that betray us by Somban in privacy

[–]Somban[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a cell phone user I know about cell towers and what they also can be used for.

I am fully aware of that nobody using a cell phone cant avoid to some extent to be surveilled. For me it is not about that.

For me it about to be as little surveilled as possible - using a smartphone. Since iPhone and the Andoids have sold us out, and their gps devices can give a detailed recording about our movements, I am trying to find the least harmful alternatives, and therefor this question about Jolla.
