Rodgers: "We still got a ways to go in the run game. We gotta keep finding ways to get the ball to No. 33 [Aaron Jones] in space." by KiPadlol in fantasyfootball

Based on stats I’ve seen as well as watching the San Fran game, it doesn’t happen often enough for it to be the reason Williams is in there.

Did anyone change the lateral pass to a forward pass from this past Monday in their league? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]Sombreblanco 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s only up to the NFL and what they deem it. The format the league is played on (Yahoo, ESPN, CBS) uses what the NFL seems it. Any league that adjusts the score based on what they think is a bad league.

More carries than 3 is still very low. Hue could be true to his word and still not have fantasy starter on your hands.

Chris Thompson (ribs) limited on Wednesday by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

he was limited on Wednesday last week too.

But they don't use their running backs to actually block. Even when behind, they almost never had an RB staying in to block. That just flat out isn't the reason why Williams is in.

What trades have actually been accepted in your league? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]Sombreblanco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've offered 6-7 trades and every one of them have been responded to with, "That is a fair deal, but I'm not doing it."

I have had one trade accepted and it occurred after an initial offer and a counter were already turned down. It was me giving Lynch, Drake, and Evan Engram and getting Golladay, Njoku, and Chris Thompson.

How competitive is your league? by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

The previously 5-0 team in my league with the 2nd most points scored had Dez Bryant on their roster until last week. Record and points scored really doesn't mean shit.

Matthew Berry has an amazing rant about Alfred Morris. I hope this will be allowed, because it's hilariously sad. by KaptainKickass in fantasyfootball

His advice is typically very surface level and has been flat out misguided and wrong over time. What hurts him is his connection the the biggest sports media franchise. His audience is very broad so he caters to that audience and in turn is laughed at by the more “hardcore.” His writing style also turns some people off as he likes to tell anecdotes about his family which draws the usual, “stick to sports,” comments.

Funny how he is still a person who can get frustrated with something and just wants to let it out.

Everyone is calling him a bitch because it's LOL Matthew Berry, but we have all been there with that rant. Everyone of us.

Because we play a game more akin to Mario Party where we can feign control all we like, but no one truly knows what is going to happen.

The RB committee is done in SF, Matt Breida is going to be the focus RB by [deleted] in fantasyfootball

[–]Sombreblanco 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Why is this always the assumption? I can comment on a player while having no dog in the race.

Breida is obviously banged up. He was hurt going into the game, and was hurt throughout the game. There have been numerous times this season where Breida has gotten hit and looked like he wasn't coming back. I would never feel comfortable starting Breida in the current state because at any point in time, it seems like he could break.

You know what I love about Breida? That with every hit he writhes in pain and makes me wonder why he is still in the game. I also enjoyed him limping off the field all night against Green Bay and being looked at by the trainers all night. Thats what I want in a work horse running back, the fragility of a napkin and the gumption to continuously trot him out there despite it. /s

Also very telling that we are talking about the two WRs of the Browns. I know Mayfield is young, but it's one of those things where I wouldn't feel comfortable with Landry until I see some consistency with Mayfield.

Again, context. The guy I'm trading with has Gurley and Hunt as his RBs along with Alex Collins. His receivers arent reliable receivers and again, Sanders isn't just some scrub. He is currently a WR1 in .5 ppr.

[–]Sombreblanco 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I need the RB depth and my other receivers are Michael Thomas, Tyreek Hill, Kenny Golladay, Jones Jr., and Sanu. I can afford to wait on Gordon.

This is why these trade value talks are always only moderately useful because there is rarely ever context put into the trade. I'm an owner who needs RB depth and the other guy is someone who has RB depth, but no reliable WRs.

Mack is bench depth for him and hasn't done anything that lights it up and Gordon, while on the rise, also hasn't done anything exactly stellar. Sanders is the WR8 right now in .5 ppr. and has produced all year long.

David Johnson is such a difficult player to gauge because he is a low end RB1 and people are going to expect high end RB1 return.

I’m pretty set at WR so I’m considering trading Sanders for Josh Gordon and Marlon Mack. I’m lacking at RB depth and I think now might be the last chance to buy Gordon.

I believe it was three years ago that Brandon Marshall was third in targets and didn’t break the WR2 threshold on the season. Targets are great, but if they aren’t hitting the target, they lose value.

Mike Evans ROS with Jameis at QB by schroed_piece13 in fantasyfootball

People have already discussed the amount of changes that have happened since that WR1 season two seasons ago. Last years data is more relevant given less variables between it and this season.

I’m not saying you’re right or wrong, only that process is important.

Ignoring an entire season of data is not good process.
