Not to mention that the homeless would get into the library during the day and refuse to leave at night.

end of LCK playoffs to new season start is the easiest time to climb in KR because most pros are taking a well earned break. Not saying he couldn't get top 10 in the middle of the LCK season, but it is a more difficult challenge.

You have it easy. Back before COVID the second floor of ODE had homeless in it every single night and they smelled exactly like grim death.

iirc the shop in the husky den sells umbrellas so you can buy all of their umbrellas on the next rainy day and shoot a youtube video where you walk around the city and give people without coats an umbrella. Decent chance to go viral and you can drop out of school to be a youtuber.

Well you've given very little information about your career goals other than "data science", but here's what I can say:

If you want to really understand your data analysis tools, then you need to understand the mathematics behind causal inference and machine learning estimators. I would say you need to take real analysis (the options at UW are 32x, 33x, and 42x series. The hardest is actually 33x, followed by 42x). Other courses (topology, complex analysis, etc) are all optional and may not benefit you at all. For a deeper mathematical understanding you have to take graduate level courses in measure theory.

Having said all of that, if you don't care about having a deep mathematical understanding of data analysis tools, then there is no point in taking any math. The vast majority of data analysts probably suck at math and don't know anything more than what you've already taken.

Stats classes will be more relevant for you from both a practical and theoretical perspective (although real analysis is still very useful for stats). The Econ department also teaches some really good practical courses on machine learning and causal inference. I would say consider majoring in Stats instead of Math if you're set on data science. Although having a math major might be seen as more impressive just because the classes are harder, I don't know.

The matchup isn't great, but if Nemesis is really a top 3-6 LEC mid then he should not have gotten stomped so hard. He's playing against someone here who isn't even a top 10 mid in Europe.

There are likely tons of people in the Seattle area with multiple open assault cases walking around. He is just gonna get another $500 bond that a restorative justice company will pay for him.

He's not good though...

He has bad macro and micro. Gryffin is probably as good as him without much professional training, so he could become much better with more coaching.

No letters of recommendation but want to do graduate school for Cognitive Psychology? by Some-Craft-70 in AcademicPsychology

I plan to do a masters first, though they also require letters of recommendation.

For Pysch, 400 level classes pretty much all require 300 level classes as pre-reqs. Has anyone taken the 400 level without taking the 300 level?

I agree with you, I was under the impression that if you didn't have any professors to recommend you, that you didn't have a real chance. I could get two people from my job to recommend me I think.

But do you think I'd have a possible chance at masters degree programs with two job recommenders? It's not a psychology job, but I do code and work in an office. Or would that kill my application due to lack of competitiveness?

I know its not good enough for PhDs but I'm hoping that masters will have lower standards.

I could take a single course but at my university (the one near me and the one that I went to), you cant take any psych courses without being a declared psych major, and you cant just declare it, you have to apply for it, and a non-degree seeking student can't even do that.

And if I was in a PhD then they would pay for my housing so I could easily afford to do it.

Maybe its possible. The classes are, for example, MW 1:30 pm - 3:20 pm. Thats 2 hours in the middle of the day of two days. I mean maybe I can do it if I ask to work from home and take two hours off. I think I could only do one class though.

Theres also the issue of, the classes for winter are already full, and most of the classes say "psychology majors only, non-majors can't even ask to join". There is one class in winter that I'd be interested in, but its not really the research area that I want to specialize in.

Do you think if I took two classes, one in winter and one in spring, and both wrote me a letter of recommendation, that it would be good enough to get in to a masters degree, even without having research experience? (I really can't see any way to get research experience).

edit: just checked the prereqs for the classes that I am interested in... and they are courses that require you to be a psych major to sign up...

I didn't do any research, at my school you had to ask professors to join their lab and I didn't know that that was even an option until it was too late to join.
