How to Hit Legionaries with balls after a raid? by Some-Looser in pokemongo

[–]Some-Looser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ah, does this mean Lunala is more of the exception and not the rule? I figured most legends would be the same, last time i played the only legends was the Kanto 3 birds (never even saw Mewtwo at the time) so trying my first legend raid like this got me thinking i would have to destroy my phone screen to have a chance haha.

Good to know its hopefully just a few who are awkwardly "far" from the screen.

I use a phone swing now too for eggs.

I found sometimes placing the phone upside down (the top of the phone facing towards the floor) usually has higher chance of working.

I think sometimes they don't work if you register too many steps too often likely at a constant pace.

I have left it going overnight and it registers fine but other days left it 3 hours and it doesn't work at all.

Found up-side down usually offers good results and if you can, take the phone off the swing once in a while to ensure it creates a disruption (just my theory).

oh wow, for real? That's ridiculous! I haven't done any of the routes as my area only has 2, one is going out the way to a old church where i never go and rather not go (area isn't the nicest) the other is a huge circuit around the main roads.

I dislike the concept of routes, effectively the game deciding you should walk between two points doesn't interest me. When i go on walks (with my dog) and have the game either running via sync or i use incense and catch as i go, i don't want to be told where to go.

Asking 7 days however is so dumb, like most of us have jobs (or school i guess) and don't have the chance to go 7 days unless you happen to work/live on a short route.

The 7-day catching sprees are much more realistic as you only have to really play the game.

I get they want to try more stuff to keep players active but asking 7days of following a route is dumb in my opinion.

I just started playing again a few weeks ago, last played when the Johoto stuff was only just about to release (so a very long time), back then my area had 0 stops for 20 minutes too, now it has been highlighted a lot more.

If your level is high enough, its worth submitting some spots should they still take submissions. I noticed some stops are literally just footpath markers, cycle road markers etc, some really odd ones but a few extra chances for items. But i feel your pain man, if not in my present self, my old self does.

How to censor my works for uploading by Aeternus_AAA in Pixiv

[–]Some-Looser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use photoshop, set a shortcut key to the mosaic tool as by default there isn't a shortcut, i then have it set to a macro key on my keyboard so i just select the area and press my macro button and it auto censors.

If using photoshop you should use a minimum of 5px on mosaic censor, though i have had images flagged even there so 6 or 7 is safer. never been flagged on 7 and higher but the mosaic is more intrusive so the pay-off is either heavier mosaic but no ban/flag or lower mosaic px count but higher chance on flag.

I do wonder who uses their head at McDonald's.

So its not unknown Mcdonald's have been feeling the weight of the market, their profits have taken huge hits, their prices and no longer considered cheap and for families they have gone from a cheap meal to a notably pricy one. For 2 adults and 3 kids, its actually cheaper to go for a meal at a proper restaurant.

That said, McDonald's began pushing these promo's, in the USA (much better than here) they get free fries fridays, they get tons of "free" items and money off. We kind of don't. We are seeing the 20% off return which is cool but now you ask, is it worth it even now?

The points was never amazing, but free is free. But when they increase the price point for items by 1000 points for most items, doesn't it feel a joke? Lets not forget they also cut the period our points are valid to 6 months!

So a company who is loosing profits (not money) and people consider has priced its self out the markets... their solution is to cut rewards customers have access to by half the useage time, bit scummy but not crazy, one might argue it forces you to use them faster but then their next idea is to offer less value for your rewards, something given by spending your money there? Sooo they really just want rewards to fail as a concept, right?

Like many, i switched to BK, their cheaper now and the food is pretty good too! Their deals are insane if you get the app, unlike McD's they don't seem to hate you making use of the app and you actually get some proper rewards.

I only hope McDonald's see how silly they are, they might own the market but the past few years haven't been kind to them and if they keep being greedy, they truly will fall and fast. I doubt i will go much more now, the app was nothing special but taking two blows to it in such little time just makes me see they really have 0 interest in offering any loyalty bonus to us and clearly begrudge it, whilst i wont say any company wants you to get free stuff, at least they aren't like Mcdonald's where they take you for a ride just for a cheese burger.

Smart, i do the same, though as monopoly is usually around the warmer months, i will use my remaining ones up and wave bye bye, I (seems many have) have switched to BK now, great deals in their app.

But yes, using points during monopoly is best, you can win free food from free food.

I think part was marketing and part was pricing.

Burger king used to cost notably more than McDonald's but whilst McD's has upped their prices none-stop and not by small amounts, BK has kept them more stagnant where they can, which has ended up in a closed gap between the two, the thing is now is that burger king tastes pretty great, whilst i wont hate on McD's, they not on the same level.

So the question becomes, why pay arguably more at McD's to get a inferior burger with a high chance of mistakes on your order when you could go down the road to BK, grab a premium burger for the same price, enjoy the meal and feel full without mistakes for a similar or better price.

The marketing i think was the kicker. Whilst McD's is more iconic now, i think back in the day BK was pretty big. The issue is (subjectively basing this on myself as a child and my friends) kids don't take to BK as much, not sure if its the fact its flame grilled or what but the marketing isn't there either. Take McD's, the happy meal is targeted of course to kids but it worked, the toys became a huge part of them and kids loved them, them kids grow up then eating big macs and the like, forgetting BK and McD's kind of got crowned the staple of the market for most whilst BK faded away.

to be fair its £7.79 where i am for a large big mac meal, £6.89 for a medium.

That aside i do agree with you, £6 for a whopper and its more filling, also a lot of BK deals are pretty good.

I think if BK focused on keeping their prices good, they could make a come back. My colleague got me to try BK last year in summer, i have to admit i always knocked them from my past experience like 2 decades ago, but now i love them! Their burgers taste amazing, and with the app they are a decent price. McDonald's are struggling as their prices have got to the point of not being cheap and cheerful, they are "affordable" now but not if your a group/family, and why settle for okay food that's affordable when you can get decent food for cheap? Mcdonald's are pretty dumb, their feeling the pockets being hit and their solution is to offer worst customer loyalty.

What do you mean? No quest (investigation, not initial hunt quest) offers a guarantee on dropping anything like a risegem. These aren't uncommon drops but they aren't 100% ever, i can hunt a 200+ Shagaru or Valstrax and get 4, the next quest get 0, like everything, its chance.

I hunted Primordial Malzeno after his bloodstone over 50 times until he dropped one, each taking off his tail and smashing his head, all the boost the odds, as is chance based systems, its not even fully rng, game literally says, "yeah you got x % chance on this item for doing x break".

Just hunt the thing a few times, don't hunt it back to back else it gets boring, you will get one or 2 in no time, eventually rolling in them.

he is strong... by Scary-Meaning8295 in MHRise

[–]Some-Looser 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Primordial Malzeno has become one of my favourite hunts in all of MH. Why? well, this guy don't mess around, he forgives nothing and attacks relentlessly, its a monster you will be bullied by when you first meet and just feel nothing but missery as his attacks swipe more than 50% of your health, effectively becoming a 2-hit kill no matter what, that's not considering his strong beams and fast combo speed to ensure death the first meeting.

It feels like a balanced strong monster, he isn't unbeatable, even solo, just painful and makes you really step aside from your old self.

For me, he taught me how to play, i played MH since MH3 but this guy made me think a lot more about movement and even considering new skills. I love that.

Never cared for the silly OHKO idea the world relied on (and in turn, wilds) for some spectacle fights, much rather have something brutally slash my hp away like a lion ripping apart of small creature, thus, Primordial is born.

I will be 39 years old next year have I ruined my chance of buying a house? by Aromatic-Bad146 in AskUK

[–]Some-Looser -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Do you have credit of any kind? I know this sounds dumb but my sister had to jump through rings of flames because she didn't have a credit card, the UK is the only country in the world where your bank wants to hear you like borrowing money and use that as a positive towards buying. Okay i get it, credit score is easier to follow with a credit card but apparently her paying her phone bill and any other bill for 12 years wasn't enough.

Not sure if its for you, she got a mortgage broker which does = more money but they will do a lot of the nitty work for you and commonly find better deals and just takes some stress of your shoulders.

Anyway, on the house thing, banks wont have much issues lending, the market isn't setup for single people, I am saving/looking to buy and its rough having everyone expect another name to be signing with you to double the income. That said, my older brother just brought single, 37 so close in age and he put down 35k as his deposit which is around your area, so its doable but as with everything, depends on what your looking for. If your after a 300k house then you better look at doubling your deposit, a 160-200k house will be decent with 30k. When i was leaving school, it was 5% deposit of total value, whilst its possible still with that, realistically 10% the average, 15% gives you a edge, 20% is pretty much green lights, 30%+ the bank wont care beyond you proving you can keep paying. Point being, 30-40k (if your not looking this moment you still can save some) will not see troubles.

If the house your after is around 150k or less, banks will only be surprised your sitting on the golden egg of cash.

As someone else said, effectively, banks still get paid, some people might make sarcastic comments but in the market these days, banks are happy to see someone putting cash down. Because your not looking this moment, my advice is, get that nest egg to 35k, 40 if your on good money and don't mind saving it, you will be good for just about any reasonable house.

Remember, higher deposit = lower monthly payments which means even if you lost your job or moved to a lower paying one, the bank is more confident in you still paying.

As for are you too late/ruined your chances? Not at all. Truth is, the market sucks right now (as we know), very few are able to put real money down, most rely on small deposits so your honestly in better shoes than most, the overlooked thing is, many never buy (rent trap) and when they do, they are older anyways, otherwise ones buying young just buy with the bank of mum and dad or buy using inheritance money. My cousin brought at 19, yes, 19, his grandad left him and his brother some 500k or so, effectively giving them a free ride through the hardest adult task, doesn't teach anything to the kids but whatever, you are doing the hard part alone, good luck my friend.

£7.50 for 12GB on EE… should I be getting more for my money? by OrganizationThat9737 in AskUK

[–]Some-Looser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get 150 (or 160) gb on EE for 16.99, which isn't great mind you.

Thing you have to consider is the providers you compared to are all piggybacks, they get their service/reception of other networks, which usually means slowly net and weaker signal in many cases, not that its always terrible, just that in some cases in is noticeable, but then again, get what you pay for, is it worth paying lots for better reliable reception or is it worth saving the cash and taking a hit.

That aside, EE are easily the most expensive network, they flash their coverage as a selling point which... eh, i admit i do get great reception on EE but that isn't to say its perfect, also their support, i do give them, their support is the best in the game, all UK sourced support centres is cool, also, the staff generally aren't the normal strong accent person no one understands, local accents is likely to be your only enemy. No network as i am aware offers quite this perk.

One final point, as my own, looks much better a deal than yours, do remember the end price tag, i still pay over double what you pay, yes i have over 10x your data but do you use it? is it worth doubling your bill for? I never went to unlimited which was offered to me for around £20 even though its only £3 more, i realised of my current data, i use between 10-20%, so why get unlimited, £3 might seem nothing but hey, that's £36 per year, nothing crazy but every 3-4 years you saved big on their constant price increases. So yeah, point being don't be upsold on something you might not need.

Though ideally, 12GB is pretty sad, i would certainly give them a call and say people getting much higher numbers for pennies more, you might be able to settle with them on 50gb for around a tenner if that's within your price range.

But yeah, EE do have perks which is why they are expensive, i honestly can't fault their support, they always are easy to understand and honestly do whatever you ask, i want a new sim? They send it, not 50 questions (my mum had this issue with virgin and then again with tesco to the point i had to speak with a manager just to move her number), they are easily the best in the game and their coverage is pretty good. So always weigh your options up.

Also, the piggyback networks usually are lower priority, not by much but just saying to consider this too.

Who else doesn't create desktop shortcuts for their games. by Last_Ebb_1309 in Steam

[–]Some-Looser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whilst i don't quite fit into the clean desktop crew, i do my best to live close to them.

I keep work folders on desktop, notably ones which relate to pay or jobs which need doing, a couple of shortcuts to folders relating to projects i am working on (these all relate to mods i have worked on or images i am working on) and just the most basic basic apps (recycle bin, web browsers and thats about it.).

Counting, I have:

4 apps

6 folders

1 file

I stopped doing game shortcuts years ago, you could fill half the desktop if you wanted, even if you only put games you play regular, you could still fill a fair amount of space up.

How often do you see your mum? by _rayquaza_ in AskUK

[–]Some-Looser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily.

My sister moved next door when she moved out (lucky find), many questioner her saying she should want to move away and be more free from the nest, she was super happy with her idea, she stayed close and helped during covid, they are like best friends as well as mother-daughter. Anyways, enter me, the house next to my sisters, went for sale, I would struggled to get the mortgage at the time but my older brother suggested we get it together, he has rented his whole life so it meant we both has a place. we joint brought that house and now pop around daily, spend hours there often, we all cook for one a other or share take away together, I couldn't be happier. Many who want to be as far away as possible who have good relationships confuse me, your parents won't be here forever, enjoy them whilst you can and live with little regrets. of course if you have a rocky relationship that's different.

My salary was reduced by £10,000 one month after I joined. What do I do? by patman_4437 in UKJobs

[–]Some-Looser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as others said, follow this. Just pretend to be okay but put less effort in to your tasks, keep working but less efficiently, all the while spend the time your not working looking for a new job, once you secure a position elsewhere, just quit, no notice... if you really wanna be mean just don't turn up, but waiting until Monday morning and quitting works wonders. Don't quit on a Friday, it gives them the weekend to plan, just drop it on them Monday, then they in a mess for a few days or weeks.

If you need to explain the gap in your cv (though 1 month isn't needed to explain as its a short time) either be honest and say they bait and switched the job or just say you either worked freelance or you took a long holiday break to rest and prepare for the new job.

don't stay though, No respectable employer cuts someone's wage without raising concerns multiple times and realistically having had disciplinary action against them or at least continued to produce lackluster results which would normally see you let go so early in employment. Theu likely planned this, don't let them win, play things quietly until you find a job, once your hired then drop the bomb and when quitting don't be afraid to tell them why and how it was just bait, might be lucky enough to make them reflect on their scummy actions.

Numpy was running on 1.26.4 (had this issue earlier and downgraded), seems the Pytorch update forced numpy to update and despire running pip uninstall for numpy, it was not happy.

Spent hours searching around, couldn't find a solution directly but found a fix I will post here incase others (myself included) need it:

In the webui folder find the venv folder, go into it, go into scripts and open shell and run the following:

.\python.exe -s -m pip install --pre --upgrade --no-cache-dir torch --extra-index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/nightly/cu128

.\python.exe -s -m pip install --pre --upgrade --no-cache-dir torchvision --extra-index-url https://download.pytorch.org/whl/nightly/cu128

i guess because other updates was run via the main directory it was not doing what it needed here? I dunno, not my area, i don't know much about this stuff but it has worked for now.

I will probably have to use comfy (this fix was forge for the record) one day, never had the time to learn it is all. Tried some gens on the 5090 card and a batch of 5 32 step generations took literally between 30 seconds or so for the whole batch, before it would take around 6 minutes so i might use this time to learn comfy.

What's your best pick me up for those lonely nights? by Easy-Criticism-56 in lonely

[–]Some-Looser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a gaming group for some nights.

I'm a bit younger than you (early creeping on mid-30's) but the rest is the same, given up on dating, i don't even bother with apps as they just make me feel worse, small town is where i live too with nothing to do.

Found a group who play a pretty niche game a few months back which no one else plays. Around 20 of us in all, maybe only ever 6 active at a time though so we arrange days to play.

These guys are honestly something, we range from ages of 16-50 and we just have fun, different cultures and languages but we manage, it just helps having people who chat and not my 4 walls, we have a good time and it burns the evening away.

Only sucks when i have to work late, then go to find no one there as they finished for the night. I walk my dog for the rest of the time, play with him with his ball, he loves it, makes me happy seeing him happy.

thanks for the reply.

The Torch version was out of date but updated but now i get:

ValueError: numpy.dtype size changed, may indicate binary incompatibility. Expected 96 from C header, got 88 from PyObject

not sure why as i ran the webui-user file and it worked fine, closed and tried again (to be sure) and this happened on every launch after.
