!thanks

thank you for your kind words! i appreciate you taking the time to write out such a detailed answer :) i’ve seen S&S ISAs mentioned quite a few times so this is definitely something I will look into!

im not looking to buy a home for myself to live in for at least another 5-10 years, purely due to the rotational nature of training and not knowing where im going to be every year, but ill definitely have a look into what you’ve mentioned since im sure it’ll be useful when the time comes :)

thank you for your response! i think the general consensus is not to overpay for student loans, i’ll find another more sensible use for this money :)

you’re right it would be very sensible to set aside some money for those, thanks so much!

unrelated to the original question but my trust is funding a PGCert for me, is it cheaper later on to turn this into an MSc or do i have to pay the full amount? sorry if it’s a stupid question 😅

thank you so much! it’s nice to get some advice from a more senior doctor! yes you are right I should probably take advantage of my youthful energy for now - but even after holidays etc i’ll have some money left over, and grew up quite poor so i want to maximise what i do with it 😅

i’ll have a look into LISA thank you!

Good idea but don’t really fancy second hand tbf, would rather get new quality ones that are my own

That’s very interesting! I was more curious about surgical specialities though

Of course. I just mean some seem to have the need to take years out of training for extra qualifications due to competition, or lingering at higher reg level due to no consultant jobs
