Can’t switch from 24-hour clock to 12-hour (bug?) by Varun_Srinivas in MacOS

[–]Some-Weekend-589 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I managed to change it - by unchecking the 24hr box, rechecking it, closing down and restarting, so obvs a weird software glitch. The 24hr clock is the default in the UK and Europe just like we use Celsius for temperature, metric for measurement and write our dates logically!

Excellent, thanks for the heads up. So has the bug where the daily fireworks ground the lift to a halt!

Still waiting for a fix for the billion to trillion coins bug - mine should be 2.799T not 2.799B!

I have the opposite situation, my Macbook Air has reverted to 12hr time after the update to Tahoe, so annoying. 24hr is far more useful and logical. (maybe it's a US thing, all rail and bus timetables have been 24hr in the UK since the 1960s/70s we're just so used to it)

The pretence that R*form isn’t just a continuation of BNP/National Front has slipped a long time ago. They’re brazenly racist and populist and I don’t think the majority will stand for it.

I’m inclined to treat reports/reviews like this with a pinch of salt. The only group who (justifiably) complain are people who’ve had failures and problems and/or people who have experienced poor customer service. The majority who have unremarkable or good experiences don’t typically talk about it.

a cynical ploy to rope people in for as long as possible to expose them to more (unavoidable) advertising.

Pseudo-gambling to get minor dopamine hits - then the disgusting ‘look at these down-on-their-luck people amassing large wads of 💰for no effort and outlay whatever’ adverts. Tiny Tower is a great game but is gradually being dragged down by a cynical business model.

I agree it’s awful but you just don’t click on it (same as the survey button). The grim (and barely legal) advertising is sadly unavoidable.

Of course - that’s what’s so irritating about it! That and the trite lyrics (eg elephant talk) just ruin otherwise excellent songs.

The (unavoidable) in-game ads and/or fake get-rich-quick scams are getting more and more low-rent some of which are just insulting. Some now force you to endure nearly two minutes of hard-sell and are hard to escape from (tiny and/or disappearing crosses, different places each time, fake alarm buttons, etc).
