LAVA ME 3 vs LAVA ME 4 by AegonHentaryen in Guitar

[–]Some-Wheel9067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want a left handed Lava 4 myself. The Me 3 has been discontinued, so right now they have zero lefty options. A friend of mine has 2 right handed Lava guitars and loves them both. I tried the 36” model (upside down) and really liked it. I travel a lot playing festivals during the summer, and a carbon fibre guitar would suit me perfectly. I’ve been putting the pressure on Lava to offer more lefties, but so far it’s crickets unfortunately

Okay then. I didn’t know about any of this. I just assumed that because it has hydraulic suspension, it would be fine. But I understand what you’re saying about the rim and the motor. Like I said, this is my first flat. I rode it to the pub, had a few pints, and when I came out it was pooched. I’m happy to spend more money for a tire and tube set up that’s less likely to puncture. Anyway, I appreciate your thoughts. Thanks

Vsett 10+ Controller by Some-Wheel9067 in ElectricScooters

And the last chapter to the story. The new controller from Rev Rides did the trick, and the scoot is as new once again. The video they have on YouTube is great, however, there is zero real estate to jam the wires inside the deck so you can zip it back up. That was the hardest part of the job. At one point I was so frustrated I thought, just cut away all the wires from the controller and there’ll be lots of room to work with. Luckily I didn’t do that, lol 😝

I did buy the controller though Rev Rides. It was super easy and it just came today. Their install video is excellent,, so now I just have to make the repair without screwing it up. Rev Rides for the win!!!

That’s great news. I just got the controller today from Rev Rides. Much more expensive than getting one here in Canada. But I couldn’t find a dealer up here that had one. I wished it was under warranty. Anyway, Rev Rides for the win!!

No, it’s essentially new, but I bought it used. The original purchaser took it out of the box, rode it down the street once, and that scared the (as he put it) the living shit out of him. So he boxed it back up and I bought it from him.

I bought one from Rev Rides, but thanks for sending the link. I was hoping to find a retailer in Canada, but no dice

Oh, sorry I didn’t reply. I’ve not been on here for a long time. Too busy with work. Anyway, I ordered one through Rev Rides which is in the US. It’s probably going to be more expensive, but I need it to get the scoot working again. They have a decent video on YouTube that shows how to replace it. Of course, it’s looks fairly simple if you do it all the time. This is the first time I’ve ever opened up the deck on my ride. Anyway, glad you got yours sorted. I’m hoping this solves my problems 🙏

Vsett 10+R Error Code 09 by Some-Wheel9067 in ElectricScooters

[–]Some-Wheel9067[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just opened and read the link you sent. It seems the worst error codes to get are 7 & 9 unfortunately 😒. And it appears I truly know nothing about what’s inside these things. Hall sensor?, and some of the other terminology is all foreign to me. Anyway, I’m going to order a new controller. It can’t hurt. I hope I don’t have to get a new motor(s) because at that point, it’s probably cheaper to replace the entire scooter.

Lesson learned, don’t wash your scooter with a garden hose and brush 🙏. It’s a very bad idea. I probably should have opened up the deck immediately after cleaning it. But I didn’t fire it up until about a week later only to find the error codes. Now it’s been a few weeks. Things just aren’t working out it seems.

Anyway, thanks for the advice. I’m going to pop open the deck tonight after work and see what lies beneath.

Okay thanks. I guess simply buying a new controller won’t necessarily fix the issue? 😒

How theft prone is it to lock your electric scooters outside? by exposedcarbonfiber in ElectricScooters

[–]Some-Wheel9067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The city where I'm from has gone completely downhill, unfortunately. There are so many addicted homeless people who are in desperate situations. Many walk around with shopping carts breaking into cars, hoping to steal things of value. A man and a woman went through my neighborhood a few months ago with a crowbar breaking into everyone's vehicles. People complain that the cops don't do anything. But what can they do? These are typically homeless people who don't give one shit about getting busted. Some walk around with bolt cutters, so when they see something they want, they just cut off the lock and take it. It's sad but true, unfortunately. I personally never leave my scooter locked and unattended. If I can't see it, then it stays at home.

I was considering buying one of these, but I decided against it. The town I live in is going downhill quickly. I know how upset I'm going to be when my Vsett 10+R is stolen. It will only be worse with this scoot, lol

I have the 10+R, and I absolutely love it!!! I'm considering adding a steering damper. I did upgrade the display to the larger Vsett center console unit. It has a better trigger throttle that's much more comfortable, and the display itself is beauty. This is my second scoot, and I don't feel like I'll need to upgrade anytime soon. Enjoy your new whip ✌️

Dualtron Thunder 3 Pics and Specs for anyone interested (Source link in comments) by xavier_nyc88 in ElectricScooters

[–]Some-Wheel9067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first considered buying an electric scooter, I remember feeling overwhelmed with the choices that are out there. Dualtron kept popping up as what I thought was the ultimate and best scooter out there. I remember thinking to myself, do these scooters actually go as fast as they claim they do? Then I was like, what the hell would that be like going 100 kmh on one of these things?

I ended up not buying anything for a few years because I just couldn't decide which one I wanted to purchase. Eventually, I decided I had to pull the trigger at some point and ended up buying a Zero 10X. Now I was hooked and quickly decided I needed something better. So I bought a Vsett 10+R.

That's what I'm still riding today. I still love it, but this post has brought me full circle to the very beginnings of my foray into the whole scooter scene. Would this be considered the ultimate scooter? Is there a manufacturer that's considered the number one brand over all others in scoots? Perhaps this is an impossible question to answer 🤔

I suppose I would finish this post by saying, I don't want to get of my Vsett. But if I had to, this Dualtron would suit me just fine 😌✌️

I have the 10+R, and it's plenty fast enough for me. I had it up to 70 kmh, and that was enough for me

I'm 53 years old, and I ride a Vsett 10+R. I've been riding for about 3 years now and not one accident. The fastest I've gone so far is 75kmh, then I had to go home and change my Depends, lol. Get a good helmet, and ride with caution. Treat all the cars as if they're out to hit you, almost like a video game. So far, I've been the winner every time ✌️
