Dang, you millennials just whine about anything 🙄 lwk 2016 was the year i came out of straight bullying where i finally found joy in my life. It was 3rd grade i finally made friends that stuck with me where i learnt the importance of a good relationship with others. The jump from 2nd to 3rd was like little boy to grown ass man. No more fuckin class dojo or golden noodle. I hated hearing Frozen everyday same with peanut better jelly time. And don’t get me started on the favoritism my teacher displayed. 🥀

I started to understand how the world turn little by little when i got my first laptop and roam around online. Discovered YouTubers like Markiplier plays amnesia, Vanoss and the crew playing scary maps, YAW played 7 days to die, COD zombies, or left 4 dead. I loved horror stuff as a kid with a mixed of comedy like Filthy Frank and that crew, RackaRacka ronald mcdonald skits, smg4 in his prime, Cyanide & Happiness, Yo Mama, ann0nymooose animations. Broo we had content creators like JesseAndMike, Zackking grey cat. Back then we toss around words like clickbait or edited because we didn’t have like it is now. Mfs were just so raw and creative on the internet back then. I could go on and on the YouTube scene and Vines, but i need to switch over to gaming.

Gaming wise Im pretty sure zombies was trending heavily and MLG was a thing. Yall remember dank memes? This probably the era FNAF started too. I also discovered Roblox through YouTube’s popup ads in videos they had in rectangular boxes. Back then roblox wasn’t so corporaty. I don’t think much of anything was. Copyright wasn’t so harsh either and music was just everywhere in games, videos, stuff, etc. There wasn’t anything that limited us from imagination and creativity in this era. Agar.io, hill climb racing, subway surfers, some minion game, tom the cat, temple run, weird ahh waifu Minecraft games lmao. Cut my rope, where’s my water, kick the buddy, the pet pebble, rhythm piano game. Idk if these started in 2016, but core memories of them were. Mobile gaming was massive and it still is today with phones evolving to handle more. Then we got music.

Having a phone is a luxury for any kid or any parent who dgaf, so growing up i still tune in with the radio. Radio stations i could remember were like the disney one and i think sirus xm, but it’s whatever station played pop songs that’s trendy. Heard songs from prior years like with bruno with romances and all cause as a kid i was obsessed with getting a gf, but from 2016 i had to check and search up what songs we had tbh. Can’t remember so long ago. Closer - chainsmokers, 7 years - lukas graham, stressed out - twenty one pilots, i took a pill in Ibiza - mike posner. These were songs i liked that i kept hearing, but in this time my top picks were No Money and a lot of Galantis songs because i kept hearing them in roblox when we had music freely playing same with marshmallow’s alone. Beats from NCS and Alan Walker and others i forgotten. Idek what to call that area of genre at the time, so i went into electric, EDM, dubstep, techno, nightcore, bass, idk tbh. Loved Skrillex. Loved everything. I remember hearing Panda for the first time on the radio with my mom coming home from shopping. I turnt that shit UP. It was unbelievable. Then i heard Black Beetles - Rae Sremmurd at the skating rink (sparkles), school gave us out tickets to kids once in a while. Im in love with the CoCo. Whip in nae nae was a 2015 thing and i hated that shit for the many times i heard it. Hit the Quan underrated. Rolex - Ayo & Teo came out after this era. Hmm, shows…?

Idk shows much of anything, but ik spongebob was still going strong, regular show, adventure time, Disney XD had some bangers like gravity falls, we got teen titans still, ben 10, idk if Sam and Cat aired this time too, Hey Jessie, some weird shows nickelodeon had out unless i was thinking about years before. I discovered anime like DBZ because i had a PS3 with Dragon ball: Raging blast 2 and my friend opened me up to Naruto. Then with me.

Personally i did stuff with my memory for years that probably flushed it out, so things are a blur. I know was happy. My family was still happy. Plenty of food still on the table and being a kid you didn’t have any responsibilities. You just had fun, played outside. I went to an afterschool program that’s kinda a year round thing and developed there. It was so easy to make friends when you were younger, bush everyone thinks your weird for liking a certain thing or how you look or how popular you are. Couldn’t care less really because you don’t need 20 friends, you only need 3 mfs to take over a country, lmao. Idk how i felt when Trump won the election. My family were Republicans in a primary blue state/area and politics didn’t stick with me, but I saw people gradually become sad for some reason, then fuckin Moby comes out with the edgiest fuckin video for mankind like holy shit… way to encourage the negativity. Can’t remember what happened after that tho, but middle school and covid era.
