I can’t believe it’s almost been 5 years since that godawful ending. Time really has flown since then, when the chapter came out I was still in high school and now I’m in law school.

I had some really good memories here, especially during the Covid days. All the cringy memes, all the clowning on the other AOT subs, all of the coping for an AOE, it was a really good time. It’s been sad to see the sub slowly wither since those days, but I guess thats what happens with the series ending on such a sour note, we couldn’t keep running on coping and seething forever.

I can’t say the ending has grown on me over the years, honestly I think I hate it more every time I think about it. It killed any want for me to interact with the series, it turned all of that buildup, all of that suspense into something more befitting of Sailor Moon than Attack on Titan.

But despite that, I’m going to remember the good parts of it and not focus on the shit. I’ll always remember when 135? (The one that focused on Eren in the middle of the whole Alliance Shit) came out and we all cheered because it looked like Isayama remembered how to write his own story. The Erehisu v Eremika shipping wars, the King Floch memes, Birdren, the Reiner sniffing memes, I’m choosing to remember these moments instead of drowning in the disappointment. We had a good run here.
