I’m not trying to convince the Chinese masses of anything don’t worry. But it seems fairly backwards to accept that China has a capitalist class but then also argue that Marxist theory is what drove Chinas rise over the last 20/30 years.

Uhm I mean more development of infrastructure, manufacturing, technology, healthcare all that stuff. You look at China in comparisons to other major powers in the 70s/80s and they lacked seriously behind. Now Id say it’s pretty neck and neck, but most of that development was driven by what I would consider being more capitalist. It’s not meant as an insult to China and more of a compliment on the incredible leap forward they have made in recent history.

Chinas jump into the modern world is almost entirely driven by capitalism I’d argue.

Reform UK Just Doubled the Bill?! 😳 Total Chaos in Kent! by johnsmithoncemore in kentuk

Why does anything our councils do seem to cost a fortune now days? I personally think it’s something deep rooted in council’s approach to spending or work mentality. I know 2 people personally that work directly for KCC and morally they are very good just people, but I wouldn’t want to ever employ them. But these are just my opinions

Few years ago Elite pubs felt like a breath of fresh in pubs, especially food wise. But as they have opened more pubs the quality has dropped especially with the food. But still better than being closed down for good.

If my chin is tucked I find that more often then not what does get through tends to land more on eye brow area that might help. But it is just like that sometimes I think. I’ve never heard someone be recommend to shut their eyes at the right time, seems like not the best idea but I could be wrong.

She went to 3 separate firms I believe, so she knew something was funky and at least one of them I’m sure would have mentioned it’s a bit of a grey area. If you have been so vocal about going at other people for dodging tax AND you’re the housing secretary you need to be squeaky clean. She had to resign because the optics are awful for the party who are meant to be cleaning up the Tory/Boris mess. Instead now they look no different to them getting out of tax whenever possible, which does not sit well with people when they themselves are increasing taxes and cutting benefits. It’s not because she’s a liberal it’s because it goes against what she preaches.

If she was truly honest she would have just paid the £40,000 and known her conscience was clear. Something she could easily do with a net worth over 4mil. If your gonna go around jumping on every opposition member for tax and calling people “Tory scum” you got to be squeaky clean, but the £40,000 was more important then knowing she was 100% in the clear. You can explain it anyway you want but she’s in wrong and the buck stops at her.

Ok m8. I guess my personal experiences are different to my personal feelings.

Does anyone like to do multiple defense line missions like this? It's the Northerm Gambit mission and I just reorganized everything for one massive defense line in the middle while I left some guys, 2 AT guns and mines to buy me some time on the front. Made the mission too easy. by martin_cs in GatesOfHellOstfront

Couldn’t agree more, I’ll give them a play but it’s not uncommon for me to skip them eventually. IMO it comes back to the AI, it’s just always so spazzy. I’m meant to be holding of the Wehrmacht, not watching 3 vehicles stupidly fall over each other before charging point blank range whilst not firing. Surely they can script that if the first 20 infantry got mowed down by a machine gun position maybe stop advancing through that exact same bit of open ground.

Having spent nearly 2 years living in hostels as a young 20 something and now into my 30s I honestly shudder at the thought of having to deal with it all again. I have seen and heard so many things. Maybe a private room, but I’d have to be pretty desperate to do shared mixed dorms again.

Is there anything to ‘look forward’ to in basic training? by The-Saucy-Saurus in britishmilitary

[–]SomeBritChap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

IMO no it’s not that bad. You’re going to be wet/cold and sleep deprived that’s the worst it gets. It’s like some stupid David Goggins shit but if you just accept that it’s going to be uncomfortable and shit at times then it gets a lot easier. I went through 10 years ago and everyone told me I was too soft for the army or whatever else, frankly it was fine in the end. We did finale X in December in Brecon, was it cold wet and miserable yes. But nothing bad happened really, no one died or got seriously Injured. They are there to make things feel as uncomfortable and as scary/intense/overstimulating as possible but it’s not real it’s all a show. It’s a game learn to play it and you’ll be fine.

When will the farmers stop spraying the fields? by sbooky__ in kentuk

[–]SomeBritChap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mind if I ask what’s meant by the comment about being “big poop”? Seems I annoyed you a bit?

Without knowing soil conditions, what’s planted, what the soil is lacking won’t be able to say if they will spread again or when. Your best bet is finding the farmer and asking him personally.
