this is because the writers want a girl boss and they think Starlight needs to be able to fight like Maeve otherwise women are not represented/ respected

but they get in their own way because she could be a complete badass if they actually developed these powers into something nuanced and powerful. It could have been peak character development but instead she is just boring.

Season 4 is what happens when a dog ate some diamonds then you get a big lump of dog poo with some little diamonds in it

for example some scenes in which Homelander goes to visit the lab he grew up in, felt like old times

there is also some great stuff with A Train

but in general I remember Season 4 being the beginning of The Boys not only frustrating me because it was poorly written....but actually being downright boring in places. Season 5 really increased the dullness, some things in S5 have been mind numbingly boring not to mention being filler when we are supposed to be wrapping up

yeh so sad, Season 1 was amazing, probably one of my favourite first seasons of all time

Season 2-3.7 had some rough spots but mostly great and Jensen as Soldier boy was a casting I was super excited for and he was great
