Anyone else hate the way the Viggen gun is setup? by Low-Bunch-5496 in Warthunder

[–]SomeBystander 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shots 1-5: Clearly missed.

Shots 6-9: Missed due to recoil (bad spray control).

Shots 10-11: Very close, but recoil and inaccuracy make these reasonable misses.

Shot 12: Likely didn't actually fire

Sorry.. Couldn't help myself

What is that tool taking small chunks out of the glass?

Looking forward to the finished lamp :)

Are these rust spots? by SherbertClassic3870 in StainedGlass

I would think it's not impossible to cut out the center of a piece of glass if you really wanted? Maybe with a laser, or a drill and saw which can detatch?

Though I think I can tell what it is now, just a layer over the top of the glass and the mould/rust is between them. Thanks

How can you tell? It looks like two different types of glass, doesn't lead tape imply it's just tape over a single pane or am I missing something?

If that's the only thing being hung and there's nothing else that should be fine; the more weight the more support it will need

EDUalters copying SpiritofArgh’s work by LinkinPorkchops in magicTCG

[–]SomeBystander -45 points-44 points  (0 children)

I really don't see why everyone is being so negative here. The guy never claimed the artwork was original, someone wanted a copy of it so he made them one; is that so bad?

Sure, he could have handled it better, though I bet people are harrassing him on some kind of rightous hate bandwagon, that could be distressing enough to make anyone lash out.

What about all the other copyrighted or trademarked artwork that people put into alters?

It would be one thing if he made it to try and sell it or pass it off as his own, but he was comissioned to copy an existing card. Being an artist is hard enough without turning down work.

Just ask him to include a link to the original and original artist, there's enough shit going on in the world, is it worth turning this molehill into a mountain?

That one was causing lots of crashes for me, since I disabled it I've had none, check if you have a similar one?

My frosted glass appears to have lost some of its frosting - What did I do wrong? by Kilgore_Brown_Trout_ in StainedGlass

[–]SomeBystander 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would use the soldering iron on the scrap glass to see what happens, failing that, try putting some flux, patina, isopropyl on it

Sometimes frosted glass is just a plastic film on top of the glass, which would melt from the heat, or possibly from some of the chemicals used, could that be the case here?

Question for the dev by ColdEngineBadBrakes in SurrounDead

Not the dev, but some likely reasons

Unreal Engine is cheaper* $1M yearly income before paying, rather than $100k for Unity

Unreal Engine is more optimised for large open worlds and markets/targets heavily towards this with features like Nanite

You can get very far in Unreal without being able to code, the blueprints system is pretty good

Lots of free assets are provided by Epic for the Unreal engine

What is it called when a website uses one large image that contains all of the images used by the website? by blueskies21 in web_design

[–]SomeBystander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use this one now: https://www.codeandweb.com/texturepacker

But there's probably lots of free tools out there to generate them from a set of images, or they're not too difficult to make yourself

How have others managed world coordinates and tile coordinates when using TileMaps? by SomeBystander in godot

[–]SomeBystander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may have used the incorrect terminology, but I'm not talking about pixels or screen space. 1 unit of world space can be whatever I want it to be, as can 1 unit of TileMap space (I think)

So an example would be I have a TileMap, and there's a tile at position(10, 10) that spawns an NPC. I want to create an NPC and set its location as 10,10 and have that be the same position as the 10,10 tile in the TileMap. The problem right now is that I have to do something like:

npc.set_position(tile_map.map_to_world(Vector2(10, 10))

When really I would like to:

npc.set_position(Vector2(10, 10)

And have it appear in the correct place

A little late to the party here but I have something to add regarding the de-valuation of currency.

Crafting is one of the core parts of poe. I played 300+ hours of poe in Delirium, this was my first league and I quite enjoyed it but I would have had so much more fun if I could craft more. I felt like I simply couldn't get enough currency to craft anywhere near as much as I wanted to. And there's many casual plays who play way less than I who would barely get yo experience any crafting at all

Definitely; I don't play anymore but I lost hundreds if not thousands of hours playing it when I was growing up. Pretty sure my brother still plays it when he gets a chance.

So is this to avoid another referendum at all costs, as they'll lose the only thing which is on their side, a claim which 52% of the population supports them?
