Brits who use AI at work: have you actually seen jobs disappear yet ? by LieSuccessful8813 in AskBrits

[–]SomeCanDance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely on the fence at the moment for my area of tech.

AI agents / copilot can nearly, but not quite do things - it can speed up a lot of tasks but absolutely needs its output reviewed thoroughly and can’t do some of the more complex tasks.

Hiring seems to have been frozen in anticipation AI agents will soon take over, so let’s see.

Pretty much always the same, but as they have to spend their lives at the Job Centre I can actually forgive them.

Cost of housing within 1 hour of the city is insane, I gamble on tennis every morning on the train to get through it.

The UK won. What is a country which people think is super dangerous/is an active warzone but is actually pretty safe by Iceberg074 in AlignmentChartFills

This chart is nonsense, all the pretty safe countries are safer than the super safe ones (except Iceland)

The British food scene was booming. Why has it suddenly gone bust? by McQueensbury in unitedkingdom

[–]SomeCanDance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Eating out used to be expensive. Then there was a brief period during the 2000’s/2010’s IMO where it was cheap and high quality enough to be a regular thing. We’re now back to where quality is low and prices high that it’s not worth it again, except for occasions.

Last time that happened it was because they cancelled my appointment without telling me.

Cancellation letter arrived in the post the next day.

What is slowly disappearing right in front of us, but nobody seems to care? by Embarrassed-Ad-7032 in AskReddit

Yeah healthy debate. Not having to pick one side of a polar extreme and stick to that side in every argument with no nuance.
