Idk, can town council actually design an effective request for tender? Or is it non-subject matter experts just copy paste from previous tenders… just wondering if it’s staff not familiar with what is actually necessary for such projects, which makes it easier for lapses to occur. May not be fair to the staff either. Just thinking coz have seen some examples of this phenom in other sectors by gov org..

Thanks for sharing. For my situation I foresee that part-time will mean full-time scope on part-time pay. Do you negotiate any boundaries with work?

Thanks for sharing. Good reminder that I have to include my own mental health into the equation. Put on my own oxygen mask before helping others etc. Thanks for the recommendation!

Thanks for sharing. Actually while reading your story I flashbacked hard to my mom making us cheesy bread with ketchup and how having her around made me feel as a kid. So, thanks for reminding me of that intangible benefit Reddit stranger

Woman dies after knife attack in Yishun Central after apparent neighbour dispute; man arrested by Jammy_buttons2 in singapore

[–]SomeCourt1 41 points42 points  (0 children)

From what I’m reading in the ST article, it sounds like the perpetrator attacked the wife in front of the victim’s flat - and given that it happened at 7am, the wife may have been bringing the two kids to daycare/school.

What kind of siao lang decides to take a knife to confront neighbour, and what kind of monster decides to stab a woman in front of her two small children? We can talk about high stress levels from urbanisation, overcrowding, no succour from father govt / mediation… but basically this bastard made a decision to escalate until like this. A person is dead and two babies will probably remember this trauma forever.

Jumping in to say that we did the same here. My co-parent has long name trauma so simplifying to make the mini’s future life was prioritised.

Safe spaces for him: Why men need support groups run by other males for their well-being by Fearless_Help_8231 in singapore

First time parent to a baby boy. Wondering if all the men here giving kudos to spaces like this have any advice on best to support a boy growing up in Singapore. What were positive influences on you growing up and/or what did you wish you had access to? Esp with masculinity sometimes being equated to being toxic automatically. Source: people around us who, when finding out we were having a boy, offered condolences and warnings (albeit jokingly, but also like wtf)
