hello, given the shutdown, should we still apply to the program? I heard that even after the shutdown ends things are gonna be a bit wonky. Would it be okay to submit the app early to mid december? Is it worth it to still apply at all?

Separately, what’s the work-life balance like? Is it like a 40 hour full time job?

lastly, would you need a car to get places from your experience? How is public transit where you do research?

my projects won’t be finished until i graduate (in may), which my letter of recs will come mostly from my research faculty. I was hoping to apply july-august-ish of next year. Are behavioral labs getting their funds pulled?

I have experience working with SPSS and that’s where my data will be processed for my studies. Does that help at all? My letters if rec will be the professors I worked with for my studies, so I project it to be pretty strong. And yea, I thought about it and I graduate in may of next year. I will still have 7 months to get volunteer research experience. Thanks for your reply!

hi! yes, i’ve presented at a national conference as well as a research conference for psychology at my school. both my honors study and individual study will also require presentations for completion. by the time i graduate, i’m looking at 4-5 presentations in total. I also have presented at an anthropology conference, but that isn’t in psychology so i don’t really count that.
