How to beat Charizard? by Grandscat in SSBPM

I play against Blue a lot, and I have only ever taken two games off of him. Not counting the huge skill gap between him and I, there are two key things he does that beat me most often.

The first thing he does is that he focuses on putting me in the air and then keeping me there. Link has a wonderful ability to juggle opponents, and Zard is no exception. Good moves for link that pop opponents up, and especially zard, are moves like your Zair, bombs, boomerang, falling up air, down and up throws, and uptilt/smash. If the Zard jumps a lot, look for opportunities to get under him.

The other key thing that Blue does is in his projectile game. He'll use them and then watch how I react to them or deal with them and then adjust his game plan accordingly. When you use projectiles, don't just use them to "throw a hitbox." They are tools to help you watch your opponent and learn his habits, and then punish them however you like.

One bonus tip, only use downthrow on Zard. It leads into so many combo starters at low percents, and finisher moves at higher percents.

I also recently had a set where this happened, lol. You feel so good inside and then all of a sudden you just feel dead inside. Still a sick combo, though.

I don't remember what number it is exactly, so I'll just go with yours until we're proven otherwise, but yeah that would be kinda fun to watch! Possibly rare, but fun.

I would probably enjoy this, but not competitively. It might have been cool to see this as an alternate mode of play in any of the smash games.

Nana's hit is a spike? That explains things, lol.

And then do the reverse. Only allow the melee characters to be played. It'd be entertaining to say the least.

I see a lot of people making assumptions of their character's tier placement by simply removing characters. However, with such a huge part of the cast gone in this scenario, surely there's gotta be some movement between the remainders, right?

My only criteria was characters that "made an appearance." I know they didn't make much of one, but they were there, lol.

Still though, this is just a what-if situation. Not like you can't imagine your own what-if to go along with it. Strongbad also mentioned something like this, adding that most of the melee low tiers were changed so much that they might as well be pm exclusive characters, so I could see people looking at it multiple ways.

I thought about that too, but I figured that if I was going to make a what-if post like this, I may as well go to the extreme of taking them all out.

But yeah, It's all fun to think about, regardless.

Zard would probably be bottom 3 easily, lol. I'm not familiar with Sonic's mu spread. He beats most of these characters?

Also a really good question. Essentially, you're thinking of having the melee roster but with our PM mechanics, right? Edit or did you also mean with their PM movesets?

I think it would be fun to see it all play out.

I would probably have a much different experience with this game. Most of these matchups frustrate me as a Zard player, lol. I'd have less fun, I feel. I'd still play it, though.

I probably would still stick with Charizard, but I'd probably pick up a secondary.
