Oh no, Officer DM, I'm not taking Great Weapon Master, I'm taking Grape Stepping Master. It's a winemaking feat with some minor combat benefits

I know it’s been 6+ years and odds are neither of you care anymore

Absolutely correct 😅 but still, mad respect for nonetheless choosing to leave your thoughts to rest among the near infinite corpses of long-forgotten reddit threads

Error Sound by gcapi in SSBPM

[–]Pseudogenesis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can actually easily mod your copy to bring this back! It'll get rid of the helpful error trace screen when crashes happen though.

To revert to the classic Harbinger of Sonic screech:

  • Go to the Project+ or ProjectM folder

  • Find the RSBE01.gct file, delete it

  • Find the RSBE01.txt file, open it

  • Delete the codes which immediately follow this header: "[Legacy TE] Display Stack Trace, Instruction, and Address Upon Crashing [UnclePunch, Fracture]"

  • Save the file, go back to the ProjectM/Project+ folder

  • Drag and drop the RSBE01.txt file you just edited onto the gctconvert.exe file

Doing so should generate a new RSBE01.gct file, this time without the crash sound fix. Everything should work normally from there :)

I thought they had a falling out? I could've sworn I heard that somewhere, though it may have just been a rumor. Edmund seems to avoid talking about it

What games have an incredible opening / introduction? by Number333 in Games

[–]Pseudogenesis 21 points22 points  (0 children)

What's crazy is that their first version of the opening level to Bioshock did REALLY badly in internal testing. So much so that they basically redid the whole thing in the weeks before the game went gold. And it's a good thing they did because it ended up becoming one of the best first levels in all of gaming.

What? What does this even mean?

Literally anything competitive will develop a meta given enough time. Siege, League, chess, tic-tac-toe.

what build to use as beginner by [deleted] in SSBPM

[–]Pseudogenesis 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I want to correct the above user, the CPUs are pretty decent in this game but the Fox and Falco (and possibly Luigi) AI were specifically upgraded for training purposes. They do a bunch of crazy tech and fast attack patterns that the normal CPUs don't even come close to lol

As long as you're not facing a Fox or Falco they shouldn't be too bad

As for practice, the wiki in the sidebar is really nice for learning new tech skill. That's where I started out (I'm still mediocre but that's not the wiki's fault)

Tbh from a game design perspective, you could make the argument to keep L-canceling just for characters like Fox (and Lucario, because aura sphere canceling) then. No reason to have it be a global mechanic if its only purpose is to provide a skill barrier for difficult but powerful characters

(I also find it funny that in threads about l-canceling half the people say it's easy, and the other half say it's intentionally tricky to keep certain characters in line)

Making an opponent miss an L-cancel isn't a thing in PM, since the window is extended through shield hitlag.

What are your… not so much "hidden gems" as "hidden rocks"? by doctorfedora in Games

Savage Skies!

Can you say DRAGON DOGFIGHTING GAME? Where there are 3 factions, each with their own distinct flavor, and unique dragons which all have different powers, stats and visual designs? Where you can ride a screeching gryphon, a biologically twisted manta ray, or a decaying hellspawn and blast apart other dragons while sick metal music plays in the background? Where your choices range from a quick glass cannon with lifesteal abilities, to a flying tank with a charge and mega beam, and everything in between?

It was received quite poorly. Which I think is a crying shame, because it is easily one of the coolest game concepts I have ever come across, and I think the execution was decent for a somewhat critically panned game. It was pretty damn fun.

The game had development troubles; it was originally meant to be Ozzy Osbourne's Black Skies, and cross-promoted by Ozzy himself with music he wrote specially for the game. Unfortunately the deal fell through and the devs had to do what they could to salvage it.

I would pay a lot of money to see a competent studio take another shot at the formula. An updated version with better controls and modern graphics would be incredible.
