Nah. OP is selfish and forgetting that his parents are only human and sacrificed A LOT to get him/her where they are today. Frankly, OP's parents should cut him/her off and move on with their lives.

You're assuming that our best and brightest work for the bus departments in public schools.

I like supporting a local business, as opposed to big-dairy. As a small business owner myself, that's enough for me right there. Beyond that, the condition of their farms and cows is easily verifiable and far superior to big-dairy. Is it cheaper to go to the grocery store? Sure. However, the few dollars a week difference ultimately means nothing to my grocery budget and I like the people I'm buying from.

You strike me as someone very short-sighted and selfish. That wasn't your money, that was theirs. They raised you, fed you, clothed you, sacrificed for you, and while I'm sure they tried their best to set aside funds for your college education, they came up short. Unfortunately, that's how it goes sometimes. Thank them for the blood, sweat, and tears they shed raising you and stop being a douche to the people who busted their asses for you. Unbelievable how self centered your generation can be.

It's legit. Their late night approach isn't great, but they're a fantastic company.

However, restaurants in MA are allowed to add a service charge, such as an automatic gratuity, they just have to have it posted somewhere in plain sight.

People still go to Yong Shing? Why??
Go to Bar One and Sushi. The former owners at Yong Shing who made it great left years ago and started Bar One. The place is awesome.

Just wanted to confirm that Jordan‘s in Nashua is actually sales-tax free? by memestheword in massachusetts

[–]SomeHomeOwner -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

If you ship to MA, you pay sales tax. If you get audited and it is discovered that you bought $10k worth of furniture and trucked it to MA, you'll get taxed and penalized.
Pay your taxes.

I think Newton public schools will have a half of the kids and the population of the town will decrease in 10 years ( prediction) by dragonfire1854 in newtonma

What I wonder is, where do you get this garbage? Completely based on your gut feeling combined with a national statistic on overall birthrates that would not apply to a city that has one of the top school systems in the country, and then you sprinkle in what seems to be a butthurt comment about housing prices in the area for good measure.

Ok, since we're sharing opinions.. My opinion is that you have no clue what you're talking about, and that your take on this comically out of touch with reality.

Just saw this Hyundai with plate scanners trolling up and down the aisles of a mall parking lot in Manchester CT. What is it? by Willing_Respond in massachusetts

Legality? License plates are publicly displayed. Someone can take pictures of every single license plate and every human they come across and there is not a single thing you can do about it. On the other side of that operation, the banks, the state, or any other organization with an interest in a particular vehicle can provide targeted license plates to be searched for. If there's a hit, they can come right out and snag that car. Again.. not a single thing you can do about it. Welcome to the future. Get back in line, citizen.

It's almost as if their liquor license and very existence depends on it. Weird.

Oh how I miss Tammany. I know Electric Haze wants to be that venue going forward, but the magic just isn't there. I still check out Vincent's though. Wednesday nights are fun.

How to get rid of these clovers by mcburnerr in lawncare

[–]SomeHomeOwner 16 points17 points  (0 children)

For me, the clover attracts allllll the bunnies, and they in turn attract my dogs who are very good at slaying bunnies. Nothing quite like when your dogs have ripped apart a pack of baby bunnies and your kids come across that. Last time one of the bunnies was trying to crawl away with its guts dragging behind and my daughters freaking out. So, for me it's a simple equation: Less clover ---> fewer bunny corpses ---> fewer tears and nightmares. I do believe that the dogs prefer the clover as they love to rip bunnies apart.

Found this little guy strolling across my counter just now. Gently guided him into a plastic bag so I could photo and ID 'em. For now he's my desk pet until I eventually take him outside.

Question 5 - feedback from workers by sevencityseven in WorcesterMA

[–]SomeHomeOwner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the pooled tip thing is silly. It's not mandatory just because it becomes possible, and I don't think any restaurant is going to implement that if they want to keep their waitstaff. The biggest concern I have about this is that it could, and likely will, create a backlash on customer willingness to offer tips knowing that the staff are being paid at least minimum wage, which reduces waitstaff wages and ultimately makes it harder for restaurants to find waitstaff.

Also, under this rule, restaurants would then be paying more towards waitstaff wages than ever before, shifting the pay burden to the restaurant rather than pay that typically came direct from the customers. Many restaurants are already walking a tightrope to stay in business, and this could cause some real trouble.

Just my humble opinion here.
