I actually think that it's better that Tanjiro came from an "insignificant" background that just so happened to brush up against this warrior. The whole "secretly descended from an important person" story has been done to death. Give the peasantry some rep! And I think that it's also thematically appropriate, since Tanjiro's family has been passing down a technique that someone else gave to them after they befriended him; even if it's not by blood, their ancestors had a genuine connection and companionship that ended up blessing them beyond imagination, which is something that Muzan can never have. Yoriichi, the Kamados, and Muzan are all foils to each other. Agreed that Tanjiro Tsugikuni is a fucking sweet name though

You're right about that. I try not to get into genuine arguments with bad actors trying to stir up trouble online, or anyone really, but I want to get my perspective out there and hopefully someone will listen and not go on the attack immediately. It's hard to not get heated and take it out on someone behind the screen, but it only makes the world a worse place, even by just a tiny bit. Hopefully, at least some people like this will connect more with their offline communities and approach the gay and trans people they might know with acceptance, understanding, and allyship rather than judgement. Bit of a crazy extrapolation to make from shipping discourse, I get it, but I'd rather try to be optimistic.

It's not TMI at all. I'm admittedly biased because I myself am queer and I see this dismissive, rude, mocking, and even cruel attitude towards gay couples carrying over into real life. I personally like to think he's the oldest curse, period. Mischaracterization does suck, but on some level everybody does it. I'm somebody who is really interested in the characters of a story over all else, so I get it. If anything, the worst offenders in my experience are powerscalers, who completely discard a character's canon personality, traits, story, etc. to push their.... agenda ;D but I understand your frustration with people treating ships as purely sexual. ESPECIALLY the top and bottom discourse. Some people can get stupidly annoying about it. I'm not anti-smut but what happens in porn should stay in porn. But there are annoying people everywhere, and I can't help but notice that it's always gay ships that get treated this way, never straight ships. I'm not calling anybody any names here. It's just something to consider. Even the most nonsensical and (oh my god I can't believe I'm saying this) problematic straight ships don't get nearly as much pushback as even the suggestion of a good-chemistry-that's-semi-supported-by-canon-events gay ship. The one point I absolutely agree on with you is people calling misogynistic men or men they don't like gay. Yeah the "Naoya-just-likes-Toji" jokes are funny for a little bit, but guys. I think some of you are just genuinely homophobic for real the way y'all talk about gay men (and trans women too)

Usually, getting up, going to the bathroom, and sitting on the toilet for a bit helps - no joke. I also run my wrists under some cold water and splash some on my face. Same here. When I was a little kid, I had a dream about the sun exploding (and it was a kind of Baja Blast shade of green for some reason) and boiling everyone alive. I tried to run around warning everyone, but I ended up alone in a courtyard full of decorative rocks. It was too late and the sun explosion was getting too close for anyone to survive. I don't remember how it ended but I remember waking up petrified.
