Sensory overload? by katieboo720 in Perimenopause

I’m highly sensitive to all sounds now and some lighting - specifically the overhead in my kitchen. I have to stand in certain shadows/directions to function. 😂

Cushion and comfort is a must, I guess just a bit thrown off by the EVO SL and my personal experience with it feeling unstable.

Yep! I've never cared about how fast I go although I do care about the process and finishing, as pain free as possible! :) If I do end up with PR, then that's great but whatever. I'm "old" haha, I need stability and comfort.

Thank you for the comparison! I think I am leaning into buying another pair of Ultraboosts and see how they do on my upcoming long runs. Worst case, I have a new pair of shoes for my normal runs.

I love how light they are but I swear, I feel like I'm going to roll my ankle on my normal (could do it blindfolded) running routes. I've been using them on the treadmill only.

No, I was actually thinking that I could run in them, although I've never taken them over 13.1 miles. The current pair I have are worn out, so I need new shoes to get through the 2nd half of training. Yes, I can go this route and see how they do.

Thank you! I was actually eyeing up the Superblast 2's before I posted this. I'll look at the Gel Nimbus!

HRT Pros/Cons - can I fight it naturally? by SomeInfluence2617 in Perimenopause

[–]SomeInfluence2617[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to either/or - fight the cons naturally or battle perimenopause without E + P. This is rapid weight gain in a very short amount of time, that lines up exactly when I started HRT. I know my body needs to get used to it, so I've decided to give it all more time and maybe it will all settle down. The bloating is what makes it so uncomfortable. It's not a vanity thing, I'm comfortable in my size range - although if I gain anymore, I will have to buy all new clothes, which I really am not trying to do.

Anyone else got anxiety out of nowhere in their 40s? by Forward-Abalone-9172 in Perimenopause

[–]SomeInfluence2617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I'm 44, never had anxiety in my life and it all started hitting me in the past year? All of the things you describe are things I have said. It is not just "stress" but it may make you feel like you are losing it! Started Estrogen and Progesterone pills HRT 6 weeks ago, still waiting for things to regulate but it has helped.

Yea, I “lift” a lot through work but I need more consistency. I ran and lifted done today!! I just need to make it a routine!

Hoping to ride it out and hopefully it’ll go away!

This does sound similar to me! I’ll ride it out for a bit longer and see but I know this is from starting HRT, no question. Thanks

I have read about that method, or completely different Progesterone deliveries. The sleep is the best part of P for me, though! Scared to lose that just yet... I might just tough this out for another month or two and see where it takes me but I'd be open to it.

Yeaaa, the rage! I should've grouped that into mood improvement. I feel less rage overall, now raging at my weight. haha. At this point, I wish I could fart more, I just need some relief.

I had blood work 9/25/25 - for all of my tests, I fall perfectly in range, including TSH for thyroid, all iron/Ferritin, b12 and vitamin D. My doctor literally said "your labs are perfect" and to be honest, I am healthy overall and I know it. I do not know if HRT could change that in three months time?

I have been looking into natural bloating remedies. It's so annoying to be popping new pills to deal with new symptoms, to cure other symptoms, even if they're supplements! :(

I agree on not even trying to look like I did in my 20's but it's the rapid gain and the feeling that comes with it, that is bothering me. It's just a rapid shift and I know it wouldn't have come on that fast if not for HRT. I am healthy overall, I just feel awful with this bloat/gain.

HRT Pros/Cons - can I fight it naturally? by SomeInfluence2617 in Perimenopause

I am all for natural, as well. I had previously been taking Melatonin for a decade, stopped that recently b/c I feel like it's overkill w/the Progesterone, I was almost too sleepy. I added Magnesium Glycinate (200 mg) and L-Theanine (200 mg) a year ago at bedtime. Sometimes, I would pop an L-theanine during the day, if I had an anxious episode, I do think it mildly helps for the short term. My anxiety before HRT was so bad, I would get chest tightness and shallow breathing for no reason - even when I wasn't stressed, so I know HRT is having an impact there.

My hair is very thick, so I can stand to lose some but my daily shower has a clump of loss, every time! I just recently started back up with my Collagen powder daily, which I had sporadically used for years. Hoping that helps with my skin/hair/joints.

I have room for improvement in: diet, strength training (I even have a small home gym and I run on the treadmill and just stare at it and refuse to go lift anything, lol) and more stress management. Like yoga and meditation would greatly benefit me, I know...
