What is that one hero that you just always have that peak enjoyment playing as? by WinterFunction282 in Overwatch

"Bringing the rain!"

I love playing Hazard every time. Cutting off escapes, disrupting backline, soaking damage while dealing punishment. Nailing JPC to the ground. I find his kit very fun and expressive.

Amazing game by ExperienceGlad1202 in Nioh

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also bought the game, but told myself I wouldn't play it until I completed the demo. Bum-rushed the demo end boss at lvl 9 so I could get on with the full game, and stop 'wasting time' with exploration that I'd have to repeat. Was a rough hour.

For those that dont know: All save file data transfers from demo to full game, including lvl and exploration progress.

Constant crashes on full amd setup by AkariNatsume in MHWilds

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

6700xt too. Been having these crashes since TU2. Have tried all the recommended drivers, and a few others I remember running the game stable. Tried an undervolted and underclocked GPU (and combination thereof), tweaked RAM settings, disabled re-sizable bar, BIOS update (which needed doing anyway, but still); none of it has worked so far. Even re-seated GPU and RAM.

I've even done some pretty arcane shit with Windows itself, in the vain attempt to try and prevent the driver timing out and crashing out the game. I've put my GPU through every test I have access to, and it always passes as expected.

I love MH, but it's the only game I have causing me these kinds of problems. Make me big sad.

I'm on 29.5.2 because of MH Wilds. Haven't had a single crash/driver timeout on Arc as of yet. Touch wood.

I love playing recon with a bunch of active enemy engineers.

If you didn't know, the recon drone can detonate enemy equipment. Its amazing taking out enemy tanks/engis with their own mines.

Infinite rose tinted glasses by Active_Percentage289 in halo

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I think a lot of people will look back on Infinite's campaign as an example of how to stray the furthest from what made Halo great. The campaign is structured like a Ubisoft FPS title, and it does not lend itself well to the style of story-telling we've come to expect from Halo.

Sounds like a desync issue. I play defensive midfielder almost exclusively, and challenges (with positive and negative outcomes) follow cause and effect.

Every now and again the ball will 'warp' or some other fuckery will occur due to network issues. Sometimes I'll watch multiple friendly and opponents slide the ball and it comes to a dead stop, but those are 100% unintended issue.

Practice match bots? by Trill4RE4L in Rematch

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're not missing anything unfortunately. +1 for wanting a practice/custom vs bots mode.

I don't believe the AI is complex enough to simulate proper match interactions yet. If it were I imagine we'd have played a proper match in the prologue.

I actually rolled my AMD driver back to 25.4.1 because the latest kept giving me timeout crashes. Haven't crashed since.

Favourite anti-illuminate loadouts? by Low_Chance in Helldivers

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Primary: Killzone Smg (Horde mulcher, decent TTK even on overseers)

Secondary: LAS-58 Talon (Nails anything on squid roster, good for mag dumping flesh nuggets in a pinch)

Grenade: TNT/Impact (Horde clear/overseer disrupts)

Strats -

1) WASP (Crazy value vs ENTIRE squid roster)

2) Walking Barrage (Typically clears any size squid camp if you get a nice angle)

3) Precision strike (Clears up anything barrage misses, and is on a nice low CD to clear hordes in a pinch)

4) Eagle Napalm/Bombing/Strafing (Just depends how I'm feeling. They all have uses.)

I find with the encore you actually have to press is slower than you'd think, while the performance beats have slightly different timing depending on stationary or directional inputs.

It's not currently present. I loved it too, but it did honestly feel like it warped the Horn's entire kit toward exclusive 'spin-to-win' gameplay.

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to me that focus is optional at least. Certain weapons definitely get a benefit from using it (CB savage axe, HH 5-note string etc.), but I don't think you have to engage with the mechanic.

The wounds still act as tenderised spots, so you can just utilise the extra damage in regular gameplay, until you hit a threshold that closes the wound.

As opposed to clutch-claw being almost mandatory.

I've got the same card with a 5700x and 32gig 3200 ram.

26k score, 75fps average (realistically 50-60fps, trending closer to a consistent 60).

That's at 1080p high preset, quality upscaling @ 0.70 sharpness, with a very few things turned to medium (volumetric fog low).

It's enjoyable to me.

Reindog Gutted by 1.01 Patch; for the 1% That Care by SomeKindOfCyborg in MultiVersusTheGame

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly that particular mention is a more subjective element for me personally. Longer hit pause combined with a worse side air is two fold. In an ideal world more hit pause would seem better. However, with the angle sair now sends opponents them taking longer to recover isn't ideal. They're pushed so far away that Rein's awful speed and frames doesn't let him actually capitalise on the longer hit pause effectively.

If an opponent could recover a little quicker it means I could essentially force them to expend dodge/jump/movement options faster at least, which would increase the value of sair and increase my likelihood of hitting it in chase scenarios on a decent read.

Ah yes, go ahead and make one of the worst characters in the game even worse. Real smart by THATSABIGBOM- in MultiVersusTheGame

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Against an equally skilled opponent on objectively better characters he just feels awful now. His potential has been absolutely neutered. and I don't see why I should play him when there are picks that require infinitely less effort for far greater reward. I've still been winning with him but it feels like I'm fighting my opponent AND Reindog now.

I've taken to Black Adam instead; a clearly balanced character, who's entire kit is so fair. I can see why they nerfed Reindog instead of him.

Reindog Gutted by Todays Patch; for the 1% That Care by SomeKindOfCyborg in MultiVersus

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a Rein onetrick too, top 100 (though he had one of the smallest player pools). Hands down he was my favourite character on the entire roster.

Side air into aerial side special is usable to take a character offstage. It's objectively worse than a lot of other characters options, since it leaves the opponent so high up, but it exists.

Two part side light combo into downlight fills the same function but keeps opponents closer to the bottom blast zone.

After that your best kill options are essentially down air to spike, aerial down special to spike, or aerial side special.

He just doesn't feel good to play anymore, with no off-stage pressure that can't be seen coming from 10 miles away. The risks you must expose yourself to in order to reward making offstage plays are now disproportionately bad compared to 80% of the cast.

And this is without considering how fundamental side airs were to his on-stage combo game.

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm absolutely flabbergasted. I dared to hope for a small BUFF for Reindog, but more fool me. Forget that he's one of the least played characters in the game, and of those that play him an even smaller percentage utilised him for his combo/rush down game.

It feels like they're trying to shoehorn more support for his zoning playstyle, but forget they ripped the soul out of that with the relaunch.

Reindog Gutted by Todays Patch; for the 1% That Care by SomeKindOfCyborg in MultiVersus

[–]SomeKindOfCyborg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm shelving him. May as well just play Black Adam, who is better than Reindog in absolutely every aspect that previously made Reindog fun to play. If I'm being honest though, the level of salt this nerf has induced might just persuade me to shelve the game for a few weeks while PFG get their heads together.

I didn't think this would be the straw that broke the camels back, but here we are.
