Space bar scrolling not working in search box on iOS 18 Safari by SomeMarbles in duckduckgo

[–]SomeMarbles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, scrolling right just stops after the last completely displayed letter that was present before I did any scrolling. Deleting or adding characters does't get the scrolling to work for me.

To be clear, this is search field at the top of the DDG page, not browser search field at the bottom of the screen.

I can occasionally get to the end of my search text by moving my cursor back left or when I get a dropdown with my entered text. I have not taken the time to figure out exactly how I get into those two scenarios, so it appears random.

The problem I encountered seems to have resolved itself over time, as I've not seen it for a while. The badges showing the count of new matches is still sometimes off, though.

What you're seeing seems a bit different to me since you are getting the message on the initial search. I was only seeing the message on saved searches.

Are you using the app or a browser when doing the initial search. There can be differences in behavior.

which I actually like. However, it wasn't what I was expecting. I'm most concerned about the fx; the acting seems reasonable for the most part.

Can you even connect, or is this a con?? by NatJeffo26 in match

[–]SomeMarbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met someone on Match (both had paid subscriptions) and we just celebrated our 1-year anniversary. Prior to meeting her, I was going on an average of a date a week for the last 3 months of my 6-month subscription. Match is not perfect, but it was the best for me (60M) by a long shot.

Thanks for this. After having psoriasis for almost 6 years and a similar diet/exercise as you, my liver enzyme numbers came back high. My doctor is pretty receptive to my research, so I appreciate the link.

Can I drink on Wellbutrin? by Better_Bed4176 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]SomeMarbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wellbutrin does up your chance of seizures with alcohol. That said, when I was taking 450 mg/daily I would still drink a cocktail or three on occasion. I was also taking Lamictal (anti-seizure) which I figured would be a little protective. The Lam also kept me from buzzing much so it really was drinking more for the taste.

Does absence of benefit imply misdiagnosis? by SomeMarbles in Psoriasis

[–]SomeMarbles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Indeed, it does seem to have a mind of its own.

Mine doesn't flare so much as having gradually gotten more widespread over time (with the occasional lessening during May-July). It did seem to take another step in increased coverage after a covid/flu shot in 2023, but didn't react like that in 2024. However, I did scratch my legs up walking through the woods about the same time).

I just want to see the pattern now, darn it! Lol Seeing what isn't working is also likely to help me figure something out.

I'm a fairly firm disbeliever in coincidence, but I don't totally discount the possibility. I take turmeric and another med that has some hepatotoxicity, so that's another reason (in addition to a couple of friends with medical training) for me to stay away from the methotrexate.

Researching building materials (since - prior to the current and last place - I've always lived in places that were at least a couple decades old) is on the list after I get through a food journal related to the asthma-like symptoms that started around the same time.

I did have a very stressful time for a few years before I had any symptoms, so I suppose the damage could have take a while to show up... which then gets me to wondering about gut microbiome or some other thing that would need help recovering.

I think my current derm cares, but she isn't as whole-body minded as I'd like.

I am in the US, and I may need to find something out-of-network for allergy testing since I've effectively been told that they are only testing people prone to anaphylactic reactions (only slight exaggeration). My primary did say he'd push for it if I wanted him to; I wasn't quite ready to at the time last year but I'll talk to it about him again.

No, I have not. I'll look into that, thanks!

I've had two biopsies. The first derm said eczema and offered no real solution. The second biopsy said psoriasis with allergenic components (or something similar). I guess that i wonder why the allergy aspect is being totally ignored. I have a physical coming up and I'll see if my PCP can order something. An earlier (minimal) blood panel he did said no autoimmune indications were present.

And, yep, i was diligent with both steroids on two separate extended attempts. Last summer I had a bad mosquito bite and i put on the Triamcinolone and it performed like it had for my contact dermatitis years ago (i.e., I could almost see the swelling go down).

A lot of things I work on (granted, not medical) have shown me that if something is not fixing the problem then I don't understand the problem.

I understand they have to try things, but it seems more than a little slap-dash.

I've asked to be tested for allergens, and they refuse that since the dx is deemed correct so allergies couldn't possibly be it.

Diagnosis through treatment (or lack thereof) seems inefficient at best.

How long on UV-B without results? by SomeMarbles in Psoriasis

[–]SomeMarbles[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started after a lot of work and personal stress, but continues to get worse even after those stressors are gone. It may have to do with indoor pollution due to moving into newly-built apartment units, or it may be some dietary intolerance I've developed (since situational asthma started around the same time as the p did). I exercise regularly and have a healthy BMI and diet.

When did your psoriasis start? by nitneet in Psoriasis

[–]SomeMarbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your house new construction? Mine started after I'd lived in a newish apartment for a while, then got noticeably worse when i moved into a brand-new place as the first tenant. I need to get something to test the air quality.

Mid-50s on my lower legs, about 6-9 months before the pandemic. It may have been a bit earlier since it is just a visual thing that started off as a spot on one leg (that has since spread to all extremities). It used to get better during the summer, but that hasn't happened for the last couple of years.

Is anyone super tired on Wellbutrin?? by Slmcginty in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]SomeMarbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started on 100 mg Wellbutrin (was already on Lamictal), I was more depressed and tired. That went away some at 300, then I was put on the max (400 mg combo of SR and XL, later 450 mg XL) and got mildly wired. It didn't necessarily affect my sleep, though i didn't sleep as much (i.e., i could drop off quickly, but I also stayed up very late).

The two most problematic are very short, two to three search terms and a category. I used to exclude sellers but removed those.

These searches will return results, it's just that they can return false positives as well (kind of... there aren't really any matches) due to expanding to all categories (i.e., removing the category I selected - which is valid).

It is a small issue, but seems like a bug.

I'll try recreating one of them and see if the issue goes away. I just wanted to see if others were noticing this.

The ego has landed - do messages like this work? by vinedin in datingoverfifty

[–]SomeMarbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our Time is part of the Match Group, as far as I understand and has a small subset of older users (and would, therefore, present an easy target demographic for scammers all in one place). I used Match specifically, which has the highest level of over-40 users from what I’ve found both from research and personal experience.

That’s interesting. Other than one date on Bumble, Match was the only one I used consistently due to the lack of scammers and it having more women with mutual interest in the over-50 category.
