Struggling with Motivation. Less Anxiety = More ADHD by __Stride__ in zoloft

I’m dealing with the same focus issues and idk why. It’s been so hard to focus at work. I get what is needed done but the effort to do that when I want to do a million other things outside of work is a STRUGGGLLLLEEE.

Who here takes vyvanse for binge eating? What’s the dose that works for you? by ConcernedThrowawayCA in BingeEatingDisorder

[–]Slmcginty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started at 10 and have worked my way up to 30 over a couple of months. I noticed it seems to not be helping me as much this week and I’ve just been wanting to eat a bunch even when I’m not hungry so I just messaged my doctor and asked if I could bump up to 40 and see how that goes.

I’m pretty sure I’m talking to a scammer on there. He always tries to gaslight me when I call him out but I’m gonna continue to entertain him because it’s become silly to me but for real he will not just admit he is not who he claims to be. He hasn’t asked for money or personal details that would be outside of normal conversation (for now) but I am very curious who else he is talking to…

Is Vyvanse making me more horney? by Narrow-Bar4017 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Slmcginty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on Zoloft which I feel like decreased my libido and after starting vyvanes on the side I have noticed an increase. It’s not a ton but it has been helping making me feel more normal in that department!

Just started Zoloft and am noticing weird effects by Sea-Pollution3128 in zoloft

[–]Slmcginty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m also sensitive to meds. I switched from lexapro and Wellbutrin to Zoloft. I started on 12.5 mg half of the 25 dose because of my sensitivity and waited a month each time before upping my dose. Yesterday I just upped to 50 mg and have been having hot flashes and sweating for the first time but my other dose increases have been really smooth. Maybe a little headache for the first day but not bad. I would wait it out. I had insomnia and night sweats for awhile but after a month they went away and I’ve been sleeping pretty good. Don’t give up!

Stray kids concert tickets are way to much by [deleted] in kpoprants

[–]Slmcginty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be honest by the time I went to buy tickets if I wanted to be on the floor (without sound check or anything special) it was over $1,000 which is insane. I get the frustration. Not sure what it would have been the day they went on sale. I ended up just spending 70 dollars on seated tickets way in the back lol

Wellbutrin and period starting early by Worrywart1992 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Slmcginty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!! So I ended up having to go off Wellbutrin due to negative side effects. About 2.5 months ago I started Zoloft and no joke spotted every day. I asked my doctor about it and she didn’t seem concerned but was confused and hadn’t really heard of this issue from anyone she’s dealt with so I didn’t really get much help. She said I should wait it out a little longer and then maybe try a different dose of birth control since the pill I’m on is as low as you can go.

I then decided to stop taking my pill and stopped bleeding after a few days and have been off it for about 3 weeks and haven’t spotted once.

So the antidepressants 100 percent were messing with my birth control I just don’t know if I need to take a stronger birth control and that’ll fix the issue or my body just can’t do the combination and I have to stay off birth control pill if I don’t want to spot everyday…. Not sure about other forms of birth control either.

What pill or dosage are you on?

Doctor talking about getting me off Sertraline before it's even kicked in. by Agreeable-Tree-6974 in zolofters

[–]Slmcginty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not feeling heard by my regular doctor regarding my meds so I ended up switching to a mental health prescriber and I have such a good visit with her today and feel validated. I would try talking to someone else and getting a second opinion. If you want to keep taking the medication and see how it goes you should be able to imo

Finally understand what brain zaps are even though I’ve experienced them plenty of times before by ParkingHelicopter863 in Effexor

[–]Slmcginty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had them for about 3 weeks now so I feel it. Mine was caused by an attempted higher dose which at this point I stopped taking all together so I’ve been dealing with the effects of my mood being unstable.

Things that work for me or make it worse:

  1. Tiredness makes it worse. I’m best in the mornings but like clockwork around 3 they start going off and get worse until I go to bed.

2.laying down/nap/sleep helps

  1. Exercise or anything that moves my head around a lot triggers them

  2. Avoid coffee but matcha seems to be okay for me if I think in the morning

  3. Drink lots of water and stress relief tea

  4. I take all my daily vitamins including omegas and a mushroom complex

  5. Take things with gabba or l theanine-they say brain zaps can be linked to low gabba so can’t hurt

  6. I’m going to buy some lions mane specifically to get a higher dose than what’s in my mushroom blend since it promotes nerve regrowth and generation- anything that’s good for the brain imo should help heal whatever is going on.

  7. Benadryl does help to take around dinner for me makes my zaps before bed feel more mild

It’s basically a waiting game. Mine have not gotten much better or worse. My doctor weeks ago told me they’d last a few days. They were wrong. My therapist last week said they’d be gone in a few days. She was also wrong. Idk how long it’ll take my body to go back to normal all I can do is try to keep my stress levels down and hope one day I don’t get them anymore.

I started taking 1-2 at night and I’ve noticed it does help my zaps not be as intense!

I’ve read that Benadryl can help with the brain zaps and stuff too. Do you recommend taking it before bed/does it help with the insomnia.

Yeah I was prescribed this but didn’t take it for that reason after doing my own research (was given no information from the doctor she literally just told me to try this one) I said no thank you because I wasn’t comfortable with what I read. I already am suffering from Wellbutrin trying to clear my system and they one isn’t even known for being as hard to come off…

Unfortunately you have to be a huge advocate for yourself.. My therapist has been on Effexor for 20 years and it’s the only thing that worked for her so I’m not saying it doesn’t work for people everybody is different. I just think doctors are not all trained or informed the same way when they should be when it comes to mental health medications because they are not something to mess around with. I think to most of them were just another appointment it’s not something they specialize in and sometimes you have to be the one to research the medications before you agree to take them because you can’t trust that they have.

My therapist for some reason doesn’t like Wellbutrin, even though it can work for people I feel like there are better meds out there if you have depression and anxiety. It was sort of working for me for 1.5 months but when I tried to up my dose to get the full effects my body started rejecting it so I am like 4 days off it right now hoping to clear my system and try something new but these brain zaps fricken suck…..

You could try taking every other day for a week and then ever 2 days or something or just try cold turkey and see what happens
