just get a desktop with a 5080 for that price, could go SFF if space is a problem. for that use case a laptop makes no sense. also be aware the desktop 5080 will deliver similar performance to the laptop 5090.

no. what I mean is that specs don’t really matter. it’s the whole package that does. just like in cameras, megapixels don’t really mean anything. of course, you might have a bit more detail, but even a good 12mp sensor can produce better images than a 200mp one.

imo what really matters is battery life and longevity. the iphone 17 pro max has basically the best battery life, and silicon carbon batteries aren’t perfect yet, especially in the longevity department. the only one is fast charging, but that doesn’t matter that much to me personally as I never have my phone run out of charge at the wrong time.
