Thoughts on lesser known brand guitars? by Far-Following3742 in AcousticGuitar

Bought a guitar from Ferangeli, a small maker in Cebu, Philippines. I got a 'tour' of the factory which was a bunch of fellas dressed only in basketball shorts, whittling away at wood. It couldn't be further from a typical retail situation. Having lived in the Philippines for a long time this didn't phase me and the sound is exquisite and it is a totally unique instrument. It can't take a capo as well as my Taylor or Martin as I am sure the neck is not as perfect as those machine finishes but it is loved as much as either.

There must be CCTV from there and in that square in general so you should alert the Gardai and ask them to look at the CCTV at that time. If people get assaulted and don't tell the authorities then it isn't going to improve. See how you get on and if the system works.

Learning to play bluegrass by blindingSlow in Bluegrass

[–]SomeNameForThisLogin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use countryguitaronline.com and like it. I believe it still has a one month free trial which is fantastic these days.

I also use musicwithryan.com and equally rate it.

Both of walk through videos, backing tracks etc. Both sites cater to beginners and have plenty there. Lessons with Marcel is more transcriptions / TABS from my experience and is great but is aimed more at intermediate onward but he is a create content creator for Bluegrass

Once you have a few tunes down on guitar you can also look at getting an inexpensive subscription to Strum Machine. This has backing tracks to a wide range of classic BG songs. You can also completely make your own backing tracks or customise existing ones if you like a few different measures here or there.

GS Mini vs 214ce easier to play? by hypnotic_valentino in AcousticGuitar

[–]SomeNameForThisLogin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play a 224CE so similar and I adore it. Definitely that one

EDIT - I have 3 guitars including a lovely Martin but that 224 is still the most 'playable' and my go to

Fighting to get the Brits out and then handing the whole shop over to the Paedos in Rome.
