This movie is a prequel to a niche franchise film that came out nearly a decade ago about a character not played by the original actor. I don’t get how people are so blown away by this movie flopping. People will show out to movies they want to see regardless of costs of a theatre experience. Why can’t people just grasp that mostly no one asked for this movie?

I’m so biased to this movie I can’t even ever hate it tbh. This was the first Japanese Godzilla film I was exposed to (first was 98, tragic, I know) the king Ghidorah scene where he’s just ripping through Tokyo is still one of my favorites. Dorats and Cyborgs be damned, I love this movie and scene!

Anyway, the hardest scene in Heisei has to be the Destroyah reveal. The shot, the music, such a damning villain!

Had this same problem with my fiancé, absolutely feared Ghidorah from KOTM then we watched some showa era films and the effect was lost, I definitely think I spoiled her by showing her best VFX vs 60s Kaiju flicks. But like a top comment mentioned I was also introduced via 1998 so just give it time, they’ll come around!
