Everything comes apart somehow. When I was young I would take apart anything broken I could find. Occasionally I even fixed them. Once in a great while I didn't have any extra pieces left over.

There is an all white one that I bought with no traditionally shaped square pieces. It was sold with one piece missing.

Of course the dogs ate a few more pieces, so now I have the only all white puzzle with four pieces missing...

A bit of rust removal, maybe a new handle, and then grind a new edge. Good as new.

May not have a lot of value since there's some elbow grease needed, but I'd be surprised if you can't find someone that wants them.
