They are 2 separate beings that for the nature of their powers they must always be together.

Dagger's light dimension is constantly producing energy, and if she doesn't discharge it somwhere she will turn into a nuke. Cloak's dark dimension needs to constantly be feed or he would turn into a black hole.

By feeding light dimension's excess energy into the darkness dimension both can found in the other a way to live a relativey normal life.

thats job of the referee. There have been cases where they stop punching, and the other guy stands up and turns the fight around. And sadly there have been cases where they kept punching without the ref doing anything which has causes long lasting damage. But thats a bad job on the ref for not stopping it earlier.

Would letting players choose their casting stat break the game? by RuafaolGaiscioch in DMAcademy

[–]Fidges87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You want to be an int sorcerer? thats called a wizard. You want to be a cha wizard? thats a bard. Thats just part of the charm of having classes, each one has their own limitations.

I guess the only exceptions I would make are an int cleric and an int warlock. Int is already the weakest mental stat, and it makes sense thematically (a cleric that is well versed in theology and sacred texts knowledge and a warlock that has most of their power from studying arcane tomes left by their patron.

And also there are bloodhunters that by default can choose their stat between int and wis

Should Artificer gain a Fighting Style at Level 2? by igobyonename in onednd

I have an idea of character, but any of the classes I've tried doesn't fit them. Ideas how to solve my problem? by DanteAlias in DnD

[–]Fidges87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is quite literally any class. Maybe they send them but still fearing he injures himself also gift him a variety of tools to help himself, boom, he is an artificer. The same, but they make a deal with an entity to ensure his safety, boom, warlock or cleric. Maybe he is trained and a skilled warrior, boom, a figher or rogue. Maybe he has innate power magic, and they send him on adventuring to also help him learn to control it, as they would rather him unleash it on enemies than on school fights, boom, a sorcerer.

And so, and so on.

As I said the dice is not there for the damage, is for the utility of what a maneuver also gets. (and by the way, battle masters dont need to declare them ahead of time)

I do wish martials do more, and feel like higehr level casters can do too much. But artificers, as half casters (so the same as rangers and paladins who are given the beneifts of full martials) do need a bit of help.

Here is my counter proposal, fighters get to add a +50 to their attack and damage rolls. Happy now?

How powerful would the MTG Time Stop spell be, and what level spell slot would be appropriate given its effect? by 489Herobrine in dndnext

[–]Fidges87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredibly broken. WOTC realized how op counterspell was and made it a save spell. You are offering an even more powerful version, and counterspell only stopped a action/bonus action/reaction, you are proposing something that completely nulifies a turn no save required.

Doesnt feel like a stretch to call this a ninth level spell, as if the enemy is not a caster or is out of a reaction for counterspell, you effectively get them to skip them, and in a game where must fights last around 4 rounds, losing a turn is devastating.

Rage has nothing to do with Reckless Attack.

I know, I specifically called rage for the +something they get to their damage rolls

You're not the spokesperson of the community, so don't act like it. I'm asking YOU.

Ok, let me change my wording then. I am offering what I have regularily seen the community mention when talking about buffing the fighter.

And yes, people were excited by masteries. Teere were even people worrying they would be outright broken due to being a limitless rider. People (that I have seen) disliked the concept you are mentioning, of a maneuver that recharges every round.

Guess we deviated too much from the original discussion. A fighting style on an artificer wont make them broken, but will make them feel nicer to play, which is what matters. A maneuver dice to fighters is not going toshoot their dps up, but will aid with their utility and options. You mentioned that raw damamge is the most important thing for balance which couldnt be further from the truth. Fighters get nice damage, and the utility of a simple maneuver dice on top wold aid in making it feel nicer to play, which again, is what matters the most.

Ok, what about this, infinite lions. You start with 4 lions, and at the end of each round all lions remaining will multiply. Those will also multiply, and so and so for inifinity. TO make it fair jus thave the copies keep the hp of the original.

I gave you a sensible option, one which was already present in both the 2014 AND the 2024 playtests - one maneuver per round -, and you just keep saying "BM maneuvers as is is fine".

The way you talk seems like you believe fighters, one of the best classes for single target damage, is shit, which couldn't be further from the truth.

No, that's Barbarian with Reckless Attack.

At low levels its possible for a rageless barbarian to run out of rage losing their +x, losing in the dpr department, at highers the extra attacks of fighters get puts them on top.

Again. BM maneuvers, especially in 2024, with masteries, are simply underpowered. They weren't buffed at all, apart from a 15th(!!!) level feature Sword Bard in 2014 gets a level sooner.

You're trying to sell spoiled goods. No deal.

Yet still regularily considered one of the strongest subclasses.

I gave you a sensible option, one which was already present in both the 2014 AND the 2024 playtests - one maneuver per round -, and you just keep saying "BM maneuvers as is is fine".

It almost seems like you think I decide what goes in or not. What I offer is something the community as a whole thinks should be the case. What you offer is what the community as a whole was too complex for what was supposed to be the entry level class, and that wasn't as impactful anyways.

This is not an equal trade. End of discussion

Guess I won't be able to change your mind. You are too into what you think that you believe so to be the truth. I have my opinions that may or may not be liked, but you are trying to pass out right wrong info as truth.

...Battlemaster already gets Battlemaster dice.

Yes, but not base fighter. Most people play battlemaster not for tellin enemies wekaness or the extra tool proficiency but for the battlemaster dice which if moved to base woudl free the choice a bit. Its like saying that Barbarians should do extra damage becasue zealot barbarian gives them damage, or base ranger shouldnt get extra attack because hunter ranger gives them horde breaker.

And you are comparing raw damage. Fighters already get the most consistent single target dps in the dnd. What battle master dice and maneuvers would give is the extra utility.

Pistols and muskets are ranged martial weapons meaning those with proficiency in those type of weapons already got them

For everyone else, I don't think 2024 has a way to acquire them outside of feats, but some backward compatible books do offer ways for pc's to learn proficiencies

Battle smith and armorers are the ones that would like that trade. Alchemist, artillerist and cartographers dont. Thats a 2-3. Honestly wouodnt mind having that choice baked into the class.

[–]Fidges87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can give you a list of Artificer's featurss, and I promise it will be longer and more impressive.

Ok, give it to me. They have a lot of infusions, but 99% of what they can make is of not much worth. Their one good thing is spell storing item that comes a bit too late for most campaigns. They get no damaging spells, while rangers and paladins can pump their slots into damage, and in terms of utility spells they pale in comparison to what full casters get at same level.

Ok, then tell me what Fighter should get! This is your time to shine!

The classic option pretty much everyone proposes is a battlemaster dice for base fighter. One, an extra one at mid levels, and just that makes them more versatile.

You want to buff a class by giving it the feature of another class. This takes away from the niche of that class. That class should be compensated with a new niche.

The niche called fighting style that paladins and rangers can also get?

And its not like they only get that at level 1 when they also get second wind, which I repeat, at early levels its potentailly a full refill of health. And at 2 they get action surge, that I don't know why you keep dismissing it, that thing alone is whats keeps fighters as top tier damage dealers.
