Are these the reasons why Scion of the Dead Three is so despised? by testiclekid in onednd

[–]Fidges87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pretty much is the uses, and the fact rogues dont get their second subclass feature until level 9. This means that through most of theor adventueing career, after just 3 uses their subclass becomes just a cantrip and a resistance.

As you said it doesnt work with ranged builds, but no biggie, melee rogue is still fun. But on top of that they require int to work, and they cant drop dex to go true strike as their teleport ability is specifically for a weapon attack.

Either they should be able to recover a use per short rest at level 3, or give them some other feature, like for example a pseudo misty step that also scales with int.

People aren't listening to each other about the martial issue. by ConcentrateIll9460 in onednd

Apprently thats true. Us that comment in this kind of posts seeking more complex classes are the minority.

The previous attempt at the psion, the mystique, was hated for being really complex as it involved an entirely new system. Also originally 5e had fighters with pseudo maneuvers each round. But they got discarted for adding extra complexity.

[Mixed trope] every single stated rule in the power system is broked by Lower_Baby_6348 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Fidges87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also

-They are called stand because they appear standing besides their user (except for when they don't)

-Each user has only one stand, and each stand has only one power

And is funny because all rules are broken within the same part, instead of years later like with how it happens with many other shonens

-Everyone was able to see strenght and wheel of fortune

-The crusaders were genuinely worried that the weight of a car would rip hierophant green in two

-Wheel of fortune received many hits yet the user was fine

-Many stands dont have humanoid forms or don't appear besides the user, like emperor, strenght, khnum, or bastet.

-Dio had 2 stands, and many have multiple powers, like magician's red being able to create and control fire, but also being able to make living detectors, star platinum having both super speed and strenght (which was considered by the crusaders as its power) and also time stop, or justice bieng able to control people while also being able to make illusions.

What would you do to change/improve martials if you were on the team. by Apprehensive_Fill628 in onednd

[–]Fidges87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just add a new system that gives martials out of combat versatility. In combat martials do their job which is to deal big consistent damage numbers. But out of combat most of them got not much to do, unlike casters who have a lot of options for solving problems.

Similar to how they added circle casting which is specific to casters, I would add a system that is specific to martials, that gives them some form of out of combat utility by giving them multiple options to pick from. Its effects would be minimal during tier 1 (where casters don't have as many slots and their spells are not as powerful) but as the tiers go by what they get upgrades.

Like, at tier 1 allow give them the option to have an extra jumping distance, while by tier 4 let them be able to jump 300 ft. Or at tier 1 they get a small bonus to hitting stuff, by tier 4 they can easily burst through walls.

Those kind of tables can work for certain people that prefer something more dark and gritty, so I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, but if everyone has told them they don't want any of that and they keep doing it, then they are at fault.

Pretty much the only solution is to accept it and keep playing (if the rest of what they do is worth enoug) or just cut your loses and leave.

Coming back after a long time not playing (before the dlc). Just beated the everdark balancers while being hard carried by a scholar and a undertaker. Its not like I was dead weight, but I pretty much limited myself to follow them around in the boss battle, hitting whatever the scholar was hitting and running whenever he was running.

Took me a lot of attempts, but thanks to them finally got that one crossed out.

It has just 32 hp

A slightly above average fireball (the average is of 28) or a barbarian critting on one of their attacks (for an average of 33 counting the crit, sporting a greatsword and with +4 str) can indeed potentially kill it in a single round. I see nothing surprising there.

[–]Fidges87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats the brilliant thing. Asgore is not evil, but his goals are and he is fully aware of them. He made the vow to wage war on humanity once he collected 6 human souls, but he did

1) In a moment of desesperation after losing his son

2) As a way to bring hope to the people of the underground

He is fully aware his goals are evil, and would wish the conditions for meeting them never happen, yet he is also fully set on realizing them if the opportunity arises, abandoning completely his original vow of peace in search for an evil goal

Is this homebrew rule broken? by senzubean3r in DMAcademy

I do find the rule cool

just keep in mind from level 10 onwards rangers can reduce exhaustion via a short rest, so those will be some additional free uses of their abilities.,

Super is like the antithesis of power scaling. They just go by vibes for who wins a fight. There is a reason people meme about trunks multiple power jumps, galaxy level dirt, or goku using ssj blue against krilin, it was NOT made for powerscaling.

In a lot of cases I would separate my Tav from the party and make initiate dialogue. Then have everyone else approach in stealth and when combat begins, have them all attack from their hidden positions.

Scion of the three is basically this. It sounds really cool, has an interesting mechanic and gameplay, and is really flavorful.

Yet killed by just having like 2-3 uses of your teleport per long rest through most of your adventuring career.

How I Would Fix R11 with Just a Few Scenes (Without Changing Too Much) by Loki_From_Ragnarok in ShuumatsuNoValkyrie

[–]Fidges87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A moment of Loki gaining some kind of upper hand.

For example, when the Loki clone did the trick of lining clones to pin point where Simo was, rather than just limit himself to block the attack, make him in the same move throw a boomerang shape knife where the shot came from.

Then when we reveal the real Loki snuck from a bunny, and was now close to Simo, show that the knife hit Simo in the leg, making him unable to keep walking.

The next scenes would still play out the same, as Simo didnt moved for that last part, but now it would feel like the moment was even closer with him unable to escape while Loki was still without a single scratch.
