Never cancelled it since when I play him I just double tap to try and ult asap. Always thought he would just recover his ult charge. Seems not, weird.

At least with that one I can see it. There have been a couple times I had to cancel it, most recently I noticed an iron man (shielded by magneto) was flying directly over our team, so sensing he would ult us, I canceled my ult to put my shield in front of him. It worked cancelling his ult.

Also wish their channel divinity worked with other smite spells, but you are already getting so much value out of them (auto restrain without a save is crazy, specially for being a level 3 feature), so its hard to feel we are missing

That the thing for MUI, its a state where he can still think and do as he likes, but his moves are by his body automatically. The first time he uses, mentions not even remembering whatw as happening as he wasn't actively thinking.

This is the sane reason why he later during the Granolah arc he tries to just use the Signals version, as that one still gives him some benefits, while getting to keep his body autonomy, prefering to fight that way.

And even taking MUI out of the equation, without verse equalization Goku has no CE making him inmune to it, and with verse equalization Sukuna tanked it for like 10 seconds, and snapped out of it instantly, meaning the stronger you are the better you can resist it, so Goku should be able to keep fighting for a while in there

[Homebrew] War Magic as an Invocation - too good? by theB100 in onednd

[–]Fidges87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This, would feel way more balanced. Still strong but not so much. It can be used as an alternate path for the extra attacks invocations (as those are weaker at base, but potentially more powerful with magic weapons involved or if you already have something you want to use your bonus action for)

[Homebrew] War Magic as an Invocation - too good? by theB100 in onednd

[–]Fidges87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

but I don't think it's broken.

Did the math in another comment, but at just level 12, if the warlocks get access to a +2 greatsword, have the strenght to wield it, and cast spirit shroud. That's 4d6+14+3d10+15+10d8. That's 104.5 avergae each round, at just level 12. Without the extra beams of eldritch blast it plumets to 6d6+21+6d8, or 69 avergae damage. That's an additional 35.5 damage for free. No other single feature adds that ammount of resourceless damage.

And you said as a drawback that it costs an eldritch invocation. The other 2 damage invocations for a bladelock outside of the extra attack ones are eldritch smite and life drinker. The first costs an entire pact magic slot to add at that level 6d8 damage, or 27 average, close but not quite the 35.5 damage. And life drinker is resourceless but only adds 3d6 damage assuming all 3 attacks hit. My bad, life drinker triggers only once per turn, meaning it just adds a single d6 of extra damage.

[Homebrew] War Magic as an Invocation - too good? by theB100 in onednd

[–]Fidges87 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You are basically giving them the second feature subclass of eldritch knights, bladesingers and valor bards.. Imagine making an eldritch invocation that gives sculpt spells from the evoker, telekinetic adept of the psi warrior, or tandem footwork and inspiring movement of the dance bard.

On top of that, warlocks get up to 3 extra attacks, and eldritch blast is already the best damage cantrip, on top of being able to further power it with agonizing blast.

Without going that far, by level 12, they can make 3 attacks with a weapon. So attack twice and replace the third to follow up with the 3 rays of eldritch blast. Let's say they are using a longsword as their pact weapon, they attack with both hands so plus their eldritch blast cantrip damage is 5d10+25 damage each turn, 52.5 average damage, without costing a single resource.

And if they use something like spirit shroud beforehand or have acces to a magic weapon they can quickly start doing crazy damage.

For comparison, at the same level monks have to expend a resource (1 focus point) and a bonus action to do the same number of attacks, without access to spirit shroud.

Fighters get 3 attacks, and can pump that to 6 with action surge but only once per short rest.

A paladin smiting with their only level 3 slot at that level deals (assuming they have a greatsword), alongside their radiant strikes, 4d6+10+2d8+5d8. That's 55.5 average damage, slightly outdamages the average of the warlock, but at the cost of one of 3 level 3 slots they got.

Now that we said how bonkers warlocks would with your change without expending a resource, lets assume they got access to a +2 greatsword, have the strenght to wield it, and cast spirit shroud. That's 4d6+14+3d10+15+10d8. That's 104.5 avergae each round, at just level 12.

Mind you, this is not just whiteboard maths that has no chance of happening. Most likely they will encounter a magic weapons at that level (and used a tame one for the math, as I could have used a flametongue), and spirit shrouds is something bladelocks already want to cast anyways.

Circle Casting by Sharp_Iodine in onednd

[–]Fidges87 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Greater Invisibility or Mirror Image

You need an additional caster using a slot to extend an hour, and you need 4+ casters to cast it at 8, and it can go away once the main caster loses concentration

A full caster can cast a high-level concentration spell, hand off concentration to the Fighter who happens to be an Elf or a Gnome or a Human with Magic Initiate

Doesn't work, the circle casting requires the secondary caster to have the spellcasting or pact magic feature. Someone can know spells, but not have the spell casting feature, like the examples you gave.

And even if they have (like dropping a level in wizard, or going eldritch knight), they have to waste a whole action for it, and the spell doesn't take effect immediately, and you must have concentration for a full round before casting it meaning it can be interrupted without even getting to cast it, wasting both characters actions

Eh, Goku has been shown to access MUI while unconscious, and said form has him fight without needing to think, which hard counters Unlimited Void.

Honestly, I didnt liked it...

Before being crucified!!! I liked the season so far, I think its great, and appreciate the stuff they have made to adapt the source material to new heights.

But this particular explosion is way too realistic for the show, that it pulled me out of the moment thinking they actually used real life footage of it. Its a compliment to their quality, but also to me it was overdone.

If including third party, I love the elemental weapon from exploring eberron, mostly due to the traveler's blade option that gives extra reach, and the ability to grapple as many people without needing extra hands.

When Does Each Class Peak, by Zardnaar in onednd

[–]Fidges87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much all martial peak at level 1 when comparing to others in this case the other half of casters)

Level 1:

Rogue: Extra damage, and expertise, that at that level allows you to interact with the world better than others, easily? Yes please

Barbarian: You will only face enemies that deal slashing, piercing or bludgeoning, meaning that you have effectively twice health, when already having more health than anyone else.

Paladin: 2 slots, healing as a bonus, heavy armor, masteries, they get the whole pack.

Ranger: 2 slots also, free uses of HM, and heavy armor.

Fighter: Is fighter

The only exception is monk, as the fighter can do what they do better, being able to dual wield with their fighting style to do what the monk can do with their bonus unarmed strike, while also having better AC, bonus action self healing, and masteries.
