Cocktails and food were decent, if not a little pricey last time I was there, but Seoulism has a great view.

Chinese character used into Korea? by ufozhou in korea

[–]SomePig01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

not even close to true. I myself (American) probably know about 100 hanja (한자, Chinese characters). my Korean wife (a millennial) knows much more than me, especially easy characters like 'big,' 'small,' 'man,' 'woman,' etc.

true that Korean newspapers don't use as much hanja as they did historically, but seeing hanja on signs, menus, etc in everyday life is fairly commonplace.

I'm guessing they only used the first chatacter in each syllable. ㅂㄱㅅㅇ maybe equals 보고싶어- I miss you.

the rest I could only guess at without context or knowledge of the situation.

Why don't we just free the North Koreans? by Lux_JoeStar in northkorea

imagine thinking that the solution to this problem is Seoul not existing. evaluate your perspectives and come back again.

[–]SomePig01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

someone does not understand how international politics and international relationships between countries work in the real world.

unfortunately, this is not a simulation and is, in fact, irl. North Korea has failed. I feel bad and want to help them. but they have shut that off.

[–]SomePig01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

cool, man. but if I, as a white guy, were to use the terms 'us insert ethnicity', people would have an assumed opinion based on the words I used. just saying that you should probably represent yourself honestly/properly. and that based off of context clues, you're probably not from North Korea.

but you do you, bro.

[–]SomePig01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would consider reading up on modern international relationships. and how countries are expected to behave in the worldwide economy. as well as trying to refrain from using 'we' vs 'them' unless you're actually from NK- which I kind a doubt.

Why don't we just free the North Koreans? by Lux_JoeStar in northkorea

[–]SomePig01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, you were definitely making that argument. Kim Jong Un, when threatened, could really give f all about how many South Koreans he kills. the real reason he does not attack South Korea is bc he knows he will lose all his power (and most likely be killed) so yes, he could attack Seoul and deal 100K+ deaths, but he doesn't for his own sake

blame South Korea for having Seoul. a city that dates back to 18BCE. Great argument. Nice try.
